FAMILIAR black, grey and white bird. The Pied Wagtail has a bounding flight and distinctive habit of pumping its tail up and down. They love locations such as playing fields and supermarket car parks, where this one was captured, but I was willing it to go into a little grass area to get a better image.

The Rat Savior is a 1976 Croatian fantastic horror film directed by Krsto Papić. It was released in 1976, and was selected as the Yugoslav entry for the Best Foreign Language Film at the 49th Academy Awards. In 1999, a poll of Croatian film critics found it to be one of the best Croatian films ever made.
The plot: A man uncovers a race of intelligent rats who can appear as human. He is captured and taken to the rat people’s leader (the "savior" of the movie's title). He escapes, but then wonders who among his fellow humans is a rat person in disguise.
One of the movie locations was also the building in the photo, located in the historic part of Zagreb, Croatia. I watched the movie as a small child and, as a result, spent the rest of my childhood and early teens scared to death of that building. Of course, it sounds silly now. :-)

Almighty God says, "Since Jesus departed, the disciples who followed Him, and all of the saints who were saved thanks to His name, have been desperately pining for Him and awaiting Him. All those who were saved by the grace of Jesus Christ during the Age of Grace have been longing for that joyful day during the last days, when Jesus the Savior arrives on a white cloud and appears among man. …Yet Jesus the Savior did not do this; He did the opposite of what man conceived. He did not arrive among those who had yearned for His return, and did not appear to all men while riding upon the white cloud. He has already arrived, but man does not know Him, and remains ignorant of His arrival. Man is only aimlessly awaiting Him, unaware that He has already descended upon a white cloud (the cloud which is His Spirit, His words, and His entire disposition and all that He is), and is now among a group of overcomers that He will make during the last days."

This marvelous Russian-style church was built on the spot where Emperor Alexander II was assassinated in March 1881.
The decision was taken to build a church on the spot where the Emperor was mortally wounded. The church was built between 1883 and 1907 and was officially called the Resurrection of Christ Church (a.k.a. The Church of Our Savior on Spilled Blood ). The construction of the church was almost entirely funded by the Imperial family and thousands of private donators. Both the interior and exterior of the church is decorated with incredibly detailed mosaics, designed and created by the most prominent Russian artists of the day (V.M. Vasnetsov, M.V. Nesterov and M.A. Vrubel). Interestingly, despite the church's very obviously Russian aspect, its principle architect, A. Parland, was not even Russian by birth.
The church was closed for services in the 1930s, when the Bolsheviks went on an offensive against religion and destroyed churches all over the country. It remained closed and under restoration for over 30 years and was finally re-opened in 1997 in all its dazzling former glory.

En los últimos días, los creyentes de todas las denominaciones están esperando la venida del Señor Jesucristo, y todos piensan que su propia denominación es la más auténtica, que el Señor primero arrebatará a los creyentes de su denominación cuando regrese.
El Apocalipsis dice: “Y me volví para ver de quién era la voz que hablaba conmigo. Y al volverme, vi siete candelabros de oro; y en medio de los candelabros, vi a uno semejante al Hijo del Hombre, vestido con una túnica que le llegaba hasta los pies y ceñido por el pecho con un cinto de oro” (Apocalipsis 1:12-13). “En cuanto al misterio de las siete estrellas que viste en mi mano derecha y de los siete candelabros de oro: las siete estrellas son los ángeles de las siete iglesias, y los siete candelabros son las siete iglesias” (Apocalipsis 1:20).
De estos dos pasajes, podemos ver que los siete candelabros de oro son las siete iglesias, no se refieren a alguna denominación o alguna iglesia, y Cristo no pertenece a alguna denominación o alguna iglesia. Así, cuando el Señor Jesús regrese, no arrebatará a los creyentes de una cierta denominación o una cierta iglesia, sino que llevará a todas las ovejas de Dios de todas las iglesias ante Él.
La Palabra de Dios dice: “Existen varias religiones importantes en el mundo, y cada una de ellas tiene su cabeza, o líder, y los seguidores están esparcidos por diferentes países y regiones de todo el mundo; cada país, grande o pequeño, contiene diferentes religiones. Sin embargo, independientemente de cuántas religiones existan por todo el mundo, todas las personas del universo existen en definitiva bajo la dirección de un Dios, y no son cabezas o líderes religiosos quienes guían su existencia. Es decir, ningún cabeza o líder religioso específico guía a la humanidad, sino que la dirige el Creador, que creó los cielos y la tierra, y todas las cosas, y también a aquella; esto es una realidad. Aunque el mundo tiene varias religiones principales, por muy relevantes que sean, todas existen bajo el dominio del Creador y ninguna de ellas puede sobrepasar el ámbito de ese dominio. El desarrollo de la humanidad, el progreso social, el desarrollo de las ciencias naturales, cada uno de estos aspectos es inseparable de las disposiciones del Creador, y esta obra no es algo que cualquier líder religioso particular pueda hacer. Los líderes religiosos son simplemente la cabeza de una religión particular, y no pueden representar a Dios, o a Aquel que creó los cielos, la tierra y todas las cosas. Los líderes religiosos pueden guiar a quienes están dentro de toda la religión, pero no pueden dominar a todas las criaturas bajo el cielo; este es un hecho universalmente reconocido. Los líderes religiosos son simplemente meros líderes, y no pueden equipararse a Dios (el Creador). Todas las cosas están en manos del Creador, y al final volverán a ellas. La humanidad fue creada originalmente por Dios, e independientemente de la religión, todas las personas volverán bajo Su dominio; es inevitable”.

The icon of the Lord Savior / Lord Almighty is to the right of the Royal Doors of the iconostasis, and the icon of the Mother of God is to the left.
On the royal doors, in accordance with the canon, the Annunciation and the four evangelists are depicted, because it is the Gospel that opens the doors of salvation for us, and the Annunciation, as it is sung in the troparion of the holiday, is called the “main” (beginning) of our salvation.

Як правило, на Царській брамі зображені чотири євангелісти (на знак того, що з радісної звістки про втілення Христа і через прилучення до Євангельської проповіді людині відчиняються двері спасіння) і Благовіщення як символ того, що через Боговтілення брама Раю, замкнена після гріхопадіння людини, знову відкрита для людей. Рідше трапляються інші сюжети; на низьких стулках може не бути ніяких зображень. У православній традиції ліворуч від Царської брами розміщується образ Богородиці, а праворуч - Христа (в інших помісних церквах цього правила можуть слідувати не суворо). Другою, праворуч від Царської брами, зазвичай міститься ікона свята або святого, на честь якого освячено храм.
Ікона Господь Спаситель / Господь Вседержитель праворуч від Царської брами іконостасу, а ікона Божої Матері – ліворуч.
На царській брамі, згідно з каноном, зображені Благовіщення і чотири євангелісти, тому що відповідно до вчення саме Євангеліє відчиняє нам двері спасіння, а Благовіщення, як співається в тропарі свята, названо «головою» (початком) нашого спасіння.
На лівій частині Царської брами зверху донизу:
- зображення святого Евангелиста Матфея;
- зображення архангела Гавриїла з благою вісткою до Діви Марії про те, що вона непорочно зачне від Святого Духа і народить Ісуса Христа;
- зображення святого Евангелиста Луки.
На правій частині Царської брами зверху донизу:
- зображення святого Евангелиста Іоанна;
- зображення Діви Марії, якій явився архангел Гавриїл з благою вісткою до про те, що вона непорочно зачне від Святого Духа і народить Ісуса Христа;
- зображення святого Евангелиста Марка.

These statues are part of an art exhibition in Budapest.
The New World Design for Contemporary Art presents almost 600sqm of the world of the Great War, which can be seen as the epoch that radically changed the world order of the time: the formerly stable empires have dissolved, culture and public thought have changed dramatically. World War II buried the old world, the result of a new world conflagration and then the Cold War. Europe was bleak in the twilight that the 20th century was dominated by America and Russia.
The exhibition takes visitors from happy peace to enthusiasm for war and bitter disappointment. It shows how the civilization of civilized and global warfare was fought, how the 19th century came to a standstill and the hinterland became the battlefield. The nature of war has changed: victory has now become a function of the amount of war material.

"Galanthus is a small genus of about 20 species in the family Amaryllidaceae commonly known as Snowdrops. Most flower in winter, before the Spring Equinox (21st March in the Northern Hemisphere) but certain species flower in late autumn and early spring.
Snowdrops are sometimes confused with their relatives, snowflakes, which are Leucojum and Acis species.
Some snowdrop species are threatened in their wild habitats, and in most countries it is now illegal to collect bulbs from the wild. Under CITES regulations, international trade in any quantity of Galanthus, whether bulbs, live plants or even dead ones, is illegal without a CITES permit. This applies to hybrids and named cultivars as well as species. CITES does, however, allow a limited trade in wild-collected bulbs of just three species (G. nivalis, G, elwesii and G. woronowii) from Turkey and Georgia.
It was suggested by Duvoisin in 1983 that the mysterious magical herb moly that appears in Homer's Odyssey is actually snowdrop. An active substance in snowdrop is called galantamine, which, as anticholinesterase, could have acted as an antidote to Circe's poisons.[10] Galantamine (or galanthamine) can be helpful in the treatment of Alzheimer's disease, though it is not a cure; the substance also occurs naturally in daffodils and other narcissi." wikipedia.org
This simple lighthouse at Harbor Beach along the Lake Huron coast has quite a history. Fronting a large man-made harbor, this light came about (pardon the pun!) from the demands of schooner captains that couldn't navigate Lake Huron when westerly winds blew strong across the Saginaw Bay to the north. So, they needed a place to put in to wait out the weather.
