Actress Stana Katic attends the premiere of the biographical motion picture drama "Saving Mr. Banks" at TCL Chinese Theatre in the Hollywood section of Los Angeles on November 7, 2013. Storyline: When Walt Disney's daughters begged him to make a movie of their favorite book, P.L. Travers' "Mary Poppins," he made them a promise - one that he didn't realize would take 20 years to keep. In his quest to obtain the rights, Walt comes up against a curmudgeonly, uncompromising writer who has absolutely no intention of letting her beloved magical nanny get mauled by the Hollywood machine. But, as the books stop selling and money grows short, Travers reluctantly agrees to go to Los Angeles to hear Disney's plans for the adaptation. At my son's today helping to paint his garden fences - only halfway done so hopefully no rain tomorrow! Was looking around for bits and bobs for today's ODC and this little savings bank gave me a chance but now an alternative for the challenge.

We managed to find this female three horned chameleon in the Ruwenzori Mountains Uganda at night. Chameleons seem to become completely white at night (I call it "turning of their energy?"), they hang down from little branches and sleep. When you walk around and shine your torche into the bush, you might be able to spot them. This one woke up and started to turn his colours back on.

The documentary Home is an eye opening film that highlights the importance of the natural events and the scarce of resources that affect the human lives. The number of resources that humans consume goes up every year, and water is one of those resources. Ecological footprint shows how much water and land is needed for one person: unfortunately, this footprint is bigger than the area that an individual lives at. The beginning of the film Home shows the importance of the term such as water cycle in our lives. Water is vital for all forms of the life on Earth, and we can't take advantage of it. For instance, Niagara Falls, the biggest waterfall on the territory of North America, has been polluted from chemical companies around its area. I visited Niagara Falls with my family last Thanksgiving, and i was fascinated by its powerful nature. It seems like nothing can harm it, however, the life of the waterfall is extremely fragile. If considering all of the chemicals that polluted Niagara Falls, it would take hundreds of years for the water to get rid off of the toxic chemicals. Just a couple of decades ago, Niagara Falls had no signs of pollution at all! Nevertheless, the film Home mentions humans’ effort to prevent an ecological catastrophe. Most of the industrial companies in the US have the rights from the special Environmental Departments to dump chemicals into the waters of the United States. The permit forces the companies to control the amounts of chemicals and their affect on Niagara Falls. Also, US government spends millions of dollars on protecting the environment around the waterfall and eliminating the risk of the environmental disaster. It seems like it's too late to be negative, however, the humans should continue to make a big effort to protect the most important part of the life cycle, water.

I'm planning to take off 3-4 weeks from work in late May - early June to go to Japan and hopefully back to Jersey. My sister and her family live in Japan, and I'm hoping I can talk my Mom into going with me. I've managed to talk her into getting a passport, so I guess that's a step in the right direction!
In the mean time I'm saving all my change and putting it into a savings account as well as a set amount from each paycheck.
