November 2003. Some said that fighting the merger with Suwa, Okaya etc. was selfish and not in tune with the times, but we felt that if the merger went through, Fujimi's future would be decided by folk living far away who were interested in exploiting it to their advantage, without a thought for what the people of Fujimi wanted. Luckily our message got through.
As the day rapidly closes at New Hampton, IA, an IC&E #270 enters the siding with a unit on the point which tells a piece of the DM&E story........The DM&E #6094 is not named for any city along the line, but rather named for all of the employees who came together along with South Dakota Senator Larry Pressler and his right-hand man Kevin Sheiffer to save a railroad which the North Western had left for abandonment. Looks like all of those involved did an absolutely marvelous job!!!!! Kudos to all of you!!
This is what is keeping me sane. We've been without power since Sunday! And now they're saying it will go back on either Sunday or Wednesday. Aaaargggh!!! We make coffee on the grill, which is the only saving grace. That and my new iPhone that my wonderful husband got for my birthday two weeks ago. It at least keeps me peep out at the outside world.

Staff members from the Cody Child Development Center on the Fort Myer portion of Joint Base Myer-Henderson Hall pose for a photo May 23 following an interview with the Pentagram. These staff members, dubbed "Team Neumann," helped Charles and Tara Neumann (pictured far right) overcome adversity with their 3-year-old son, Charles Jr., who suffers from oral hypersensitivities and a sensory disorder to the taste and textures of food. Through 18 months of steady help, these care workers helped Charles Jr. learn to eat nearly on his own, and to keep food down. “They are the closest things to family we have here,” Tara said.
