One morning, Aaron snuck out of the cabin with Quincy. I woke up soon after, grabbed my camera and went for a walk. I happened upon them at the tennis court, where Aaron had to take a break from the game to attend to a crying Quincy. I took over the baby holding duties for a set & a half. By the time it was all over, Quincy was fast asleep in my arms. The same thing happened the next day, too.

On October 11, 2014, Patrick O'Connor from the Bay Area Seed Interchange Library led an Introduction to Seed Saving workshop at the Hayward Main Library.
Participants learned how to save seeds of common vegetables, including “wet seeds” like tomatoes. Patrick reviewed the advantages of growing locally adapted crops. Participants were encouraged to develop a habit of saving and contributing seeds to the Hayward Seed Lending Library to share with local gardeners.
Sponsored by the Friends of the Hayward Library. This workshop is presented as part of the Hayward Seed Lending Library program, which operates as a community seed exchange. “Check out” a variety of vegetable and flower seeds to plant in your personal garden. In return, consider harvesting some of the seeds from mature plants for your own use and for sharing with the Seed Lending Library. It’s easy to become a member or volunteer – learn more at: hayward-ca.gov/seeds.
