Daylight Saving's photographers didn't show, so I got asked if I could go down to their practise and take a couple of shots.
With such a huge supply found during my Mt Rainier bike ride, hoarding snowballs in July was too good an opportunity to pass up.
(I tried three Month of Sundays photos today. This is reject #2: the silly one. I ended up with this.)
Tonight i walked around for a hour or so and took some long exposures of the on going building work in the city, hadnt done this for a good while. Interesting to see how much its advanced since i last did it, looks like it should all be done for 2009 (yes nine).
I love doing this, some people look at you like your mad, maybe just a touch excentric perhaps.

Silence hurts us all
Brian Malmon was a smart, popular, and fun student through high school and college. In the beginning of his freshman year at Columbia University, he started struggling with depression and psychosis, but concealed his symptoms from everyone around him for three years. In the middle of his senior year, he returned home and began receiving treatment for what was later diagnosed as schizoaffective disorder.
His underlying depression was left untreated and only worsened as he continued to hide his distress from his friends. “The depression had created a space for him where he felt like he was the only one, that all of it was his fault,” says Alison.
A year and a half later on March 24, 2000, as Alison was wrapping up her freshman year at the University of Pennsylvania, Brian ended his life.

Kitty-kitty is the calico at the head of the bed. The Grande Dame. The Matriarch.
Minion is the grey tuxedo cat in the middle. We deal with him on HIS terms.
The Kitten. Unabashed ruler of the household. Even over the dog.
All three began life as barn cats.
This was taken at the Dingwall Rotary Club day which also has a classic car show. As you can probably gather from the smiling onlookers, this was not a real crash but a 'mock' demonstration on how to remove a person from a crashed vehicle. The "victim" was a willing volunteer and looked stable throughout and as they proceeded to cut off the doors, roof etc..it really gave you an insight into accidents and was quite frightening too...!! No pandas were harmed in the demonstration...although the car was in bits...
These National Guardsmen would retrieve flags for homeowners if the homes were unaccessible. They said it was the least they could do.

There were four Niland brothers who served in the war together. Robert J. and Preston T. Niland died at very close to the same time, and a third brother was MIA at the time of their deaths, so the fourth brother, Sergeant Frederick "Fritz" Niland was ordered home. It's not the same exact story as Saving Private Ryan, but the movie was originally based off this family.
