I've long been saving "crumbs" of fabric in a special jar with the idea of making a mini like flossie's. But I've finally come to terms with the fact that I'm nowhere near as skilled as she is at raw edge applique. This week I saw this beauty. That's more my speed -- tiny improvisational piecing rather than applique, more structured color shifts, less planning required. I can do this! What I'm going to do with the finished wheel, I have no idea. But in the meantime I'm having fun using up some tiny bits!

While refilling a hummingbird feeder I used a geranium petal to fish this fly out of the sugar water. This video is a condensation of the 40+ minutes it took for the fly to clean itself and get back into flight-ready status. LOL! Believe it or not, I found it interesting to watch.
Drilled out these Rolling Darryl rims to save some rotating weight. Saved about 430g over two wheels. (1lb)

Clarksville, Missouri is an historic town of 500 people, midway between St. Louis and Hannibal, was in the same situation as other northeast Missouri communities that were trudging on, giving up, or suspending efforts Tuesday as they tried to meet the challenge of near-record flooding expected later in the week. At a crest of 38 feet, the Mississippi will be 13 feet above flood stage there. National Guard members, Missouri inmates and college students were sandbagging levees and buildings trying to protect the town..
