Saving A Railroad.......
As the day rapidly closes at New Hampton, IA, an IC&E #270 enters the siding with a unit on the point which tells a piece of the DM&E story........The DM&E #6094 is not named for any city along the line, but rather named for all of the employees who came together along with South Dakota Senator Larry Pressler and his right-hand man Kevin Sheiffer to save a railroad which the North Western had left for abandonment. Looks like all of those involved did an absolutely marvelous job!!!!! Kudos to all of you!!
