With it now 5 months since lockdown restrictions were implemented due to COVID-19, airlines are very slowly starting to see demand returning although this maybe scuppered in part due to spikes in cases being reported.
British Airways unsurprisingly has been affected by COVID-19 which has seen the premature withdrawal of their entire Boeing 747-400 fleet as well as the solitary Airbus A318 no longer in use following the cancellation of their unique London City to New York-John F. Kennedy flight.
The saving grace has been cargo which has seen select Boeing 777-200ERs seeing their World Traveller seats removed for more cargo capacity, as well as their Boeing 777-200ER/300ERs, Boeing 787-8/9/10s and Airbus A350-1000s providing the lion-share of long-haul flights, with Boeing 787-8s making appearances on European short-haul flights in order to ensure social distancing is complied with.
Very recently, British Airways has published its upcoming W20 schedule which sees considerable amount of changes, taking into consideration Boeing 747-400s no longer form their long-haul network and London Gatwick long-haul flights slowly being reinstated.
Given the huge amount of changes, this will be split into three separate posts...
As per Airline Route, here are the following changes which are heavily subject to change effective 26th October 2020 unless stated otherwise:
-Abu Dhabi: Daily flight (BA72/73) cancelled throughout the entire W20 schedule.
-Atlanta (Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta): BA226/227 reduced from daily to 4 weekly flights, retaining Boeing 787-9s.
-Austin-Bergstrom: BA190/191 remains daily, with 5 weekly flights operated by Airbus A350-1000s and 2 weekly flights operated by Boeing 777-300ERs.
-Bahrain then Dammam: BA124/125 reduced reduced from daily to 5 weekly flights, with Boeing 787-8s replacing Boeing 777-200ER operation. Section between Bahrain and Dammam has been cancelled.
-Baltimore/Washington: BA228/229 reduced from daily to 4 weekly flights, utilising Boeing 787-8/9s.
-Bangkok-Suvarnabhumi: BA9/10 continues to operate daily, 3-class Boeing 777-200ERs replaced by Boeing 78-9s.
-Beijing-Daxing: BA38/39 remains daily, Boeing 787-9s replaced by Boeing 777-300ERs.
-Bengaluru: BA118/119 reduced from daily to 5 weekly flights, 3-class Boeing 777-200ERs replaced by Airbus A350-1000s.
-Boston-Logan: Substantial changes sees 25 weekly flights cut to 14 weekly or twice daily flights. 4 times weekly BA202/203 and daily BA238/239 have been cancelled. BA212/213 utilises Boeing 787-9s replacing Boeing 747-400s, and BA214/215 utilises Airbus A350-1000s replacing 4-class Boeing 777-200ERs.
-Buenos Aires-Ezeiza: BA244/245 reduced from daily to 5 weekly flights, Boeing 787-8s replaces 3-class Boeing 777-200ERs.
-Cape Town: BA58/59 remains daily utilising Boeing 777-300ERs instead of Boeing 747-400s. BA42/43 continues to show Boeing 747-400s but is expected to be cancelled.
-Chennai: BA35/36 reduced from daily to 5 weekly flights utilising Boeing 787-8/9s.
-Chicago-O'Hare: Remains twice daily; BA294/295 utilises Boeing 787-9s instead of Boeing 747-400s, and BA296/297 utilising 3-class Boeing 777-200ERs instead of 4-class Boeing 777-200ERs.
-Dallas-Fort Worth: BA192/193 continues to operate daily utilising Boeing 787-9s instead of Boeing 747-400s.
-Delhi-Indira Ghandi: Remains twice daily, BA142/143 utilises Boeing 787-8s instead of Boeing 787-9s, and BA256/257 utilises 3-class Boeing 777-200ERs instead of 4-class Boeing 777-200ERs.
-Denver: BA218/219 remains daily utilising Boeing 787-9s instead of Boeing 747-400s.
-Dubai-International: Reduced from thrice to twice daily with the cancellation of BA108/109. BA104/105 utilises Boeing 787-9s instead of 4-class Boeing 777-200ERs, and BA106/107 initially operated by 3-class Boeing 777-200ERs until 31st December 2020, going over to Boeing 787-9 operation from 1st January 2021.
-Durban: Thrice weekly BA40/41 cancelled.
-Hong Kong-Chek Lap Kok: Reduced from twice daily to single daily with BA31/32 cancelled. BA27/28 remains operated by Boeing 777-300ERs.
-Houston-George Bush Intercontinental: Reduced from twice daily to single daily with BA196/197 cancelled. BA194/195 utilises 4-class Boeing 777-200ERs.
-Hyderabad: BA276/277 reduced from daily to 5 weekly flights with one weekly flight operated by Boeing 787-9s alongside Boeing 787-8s for the remaining 4 weekly flights.
-Islamabad: BA260/261 operates daily instead of thrice weekly utilising Boeing 787-8s.
-Jeddah-King Abdulaziz: 5 times weekly BA132/133 cancelled until 14th December 2020.
-Kuala Lumpur-Sepang: BA34/35 continues to operate daily utilising Boeing 787-8s instead of Boeing 787-9s.
The changes are noticeable, especially those which featured multiple frequencies having had around 50% slashed off as British Airways does not expect demand to return for the next 2-3 years.
Currently, British Airways operates 32 Boeing 787s, which includes 12 Boeing 787-8s (one currently in short-term storage), 18 Boeing 787-9s (one in long-term storage awaiting new Rolls-Royce engines) and 2 Boeing 787-10s. British Airways have 10 Boeing 787-10s on-order.
Zulu Bravo Juliet Kilo is one of 12 Boeing 787-8s in service with British Airways, delivered new to the flag-carrier on 13th September 2018 and she is powered by 2 Rolls-Royce Trent 1000 engines.

It was fascinating to watch scenes of a feature film being produced at Disneyland. I briefly saw Tom Hanks as Walt Disney, as well as Paul Giamatti and Emma Thompson which was cool. But what I enjoyed the most about watching the production was seeing protions of Disneyland transformed back to the early 1960s. And seeing all the Extras in their period clothing was awesome.
I do believe this guy's camera is from the 1970s, but close enough!
Olean has a bunch of squirrel statues representing various things or people, so its nice to see that the squirrel here is being saved.

At the Outdoor Lab school near Mount Evans, Colorado
Recent budget cuts have lead to the suspension of the Outdoor Laboratory Schools in Jefferson County, Colorado. The program has been around for more than 50 years. I have had the privilege of both attending when I was a sixth grader and also teaching classes at the school while my little brother attended. My dad even went to the school when he was a kid. It is a Jefferson Country tradition that kids have been able to experience for years. Outdoor Lab is an incredibly important program, especially for the kids who attend who have not spent much time up in this beautiful place that we live in. I have both witnessed and experienced the good that this program can do. However, in order to keep the school up and running, they need private funding, and lots of it.

Members of the St Ives RNLI lifeboat crew returning from a shout (I think the bosun could give Clint Eastwood a run for his money with that flinty eyed stare! Go to L for the full intimidation effect). The coastguard had called them out to find and bring home many small and large boats that had been stranded on the water of the bay by a huge, dense bank of sea fog that had rolled in at an astonishing rate (science fiction, end of the world, disaster movie kind of speed!). It blanketed not just the sea but St Ives itself, creating an eerie yet beautiful atmosphere as the light dropped dramatically and all sounds became muffled. It all happened so fast even the coastguard in the watchtower on the headland in St Ives were caught out.
As Jay and I stood leaning on the promenade wall, watching the amazing sight of the beach and people quickly disappearing from view, a man appeared next me with a squawking walkie talkie in hand, he looked very worried and was frantically peering into the increasingly dense fog. I could hear a voice from the walkie talkie repeatedly asking him what could he see – his exasperated and panicky response had me in stitches, "What can I see? What can I SEE? I'll tell you what I can see...F*CK ALL! That's what I can see!" From the conversation I had with him later it turned out he was the owner of one of the boat hire companies that hire out the small family sized inflatable dinghies to tourists; mum, dad and the kids usually...and he didn't know where any of them were.
What had started off as a novel and awesome natural event soon became very serious when the coastguard realised there were lots of boats out in the bay and along the coast with no idea of where they were or which direction was which. So the shout went out for the RNLI lifeboat volunteers and very quickly the main boat and the James Bond-like high speed inflatable were in the water and off in search of stranded boats. So worried were the coastguard that they requested the help of a large research vessel moored in the bay to up anchor and help them locate the boats with their radar. An hour later and the lifeboats returned, leading in a small flotilla of boats filled with very relieved looking tourists and boat crew.
Hats off to the brave and courageous men and women of all the lifeboats crews stationed around our coastline, volunteers all, who go out in some of the worst sea conditions imaginable, day or night, to rescue people.

Arden/Arcade - Sacramento, Ca
The sign had the right patina at the time this photo was taken. The neon was long gone and I can't remember if it ever had the neon working even at the original Arden Way location before it got moved to this spot. The sign has been re-purposed and the unoccupied Saving Center's building is gradually falling apart.
Ala is feeling so much better with the waters to cool her fires down. What the little smoking hot fire goddess dose not know that below the water is a Chaotic being of fire named Dresmorlin... As Ala's hot little body warms the waters it melts the ice that hold Dresmorlin at by and once free Ala would be power less to stop him for only the gods of ice could stop him.
I used to be an avid player of Dungeons and Dragons. I started out with 2nd edition, wherein there are 2 branches of Dungeons and Dragons, namely the complex Advanced Dungeons and Dragons (AD&D) - this is what I was introduced to; and the simpler Dungeons and Dragons (D&D). By the time it reached 3rd edition, there are no longer 2 branches, and became a single branch simply named Dungeons and Dargons (D&D). I stopped playing around 3.5 edition.
These 2 dice sets are just some of my original dice sets I used in my hayday that I just recently. I remeber owning tranlucent yellow and translucent blue dice sets, as well yellow/white and orange/yellow 2 tone dice sets that I have yet to find again.
I had the itch to find my old dice sets again and not simply buy new sets due to the memories I had with them. I also had an itch to find them, because I got to hang out with a couple of my buddies and played 5th edition D&D, bringing back a lot of memories and love for the game.
Here's hoping I find my other dice sets and continue our recent campaign, then ultimately, play more campaigns where I become a dungeon master once again... because, truth be told, I am a very rusty D&D player, and an even more rusty DM.

This boy was selling cheese sticks at the local beach for his living and iam sure for his family too. What amazed and touched me was his attitude and intention for saving small fishes' lives (as if he knew the importance of life !!) which were removed from the net by the fishermen (see my previous shots) He kept picking small fishes form the sand and kept throwing into the deep water. Here in this shot he is looking concerned, worried, and thoughtful for the poor soul. Hats off to him!!
Sadly this is probably the only way to save them.
