Here's a piece of core sample that I brought home and scrubbed clean. It is 7/8 inch in diameter and a tad over 3 inches long. This one is quartz.

The sample cherry tree started blooming in Yasukuni shrine. Thereby it is announced officially that the cherry trees are in bloom in Tokyo.

Sep 2 2017 - Some of the booths in the sampling area with people crowding in to taste test various foods. HArd to get pictures with so many people reaching everywhere for something to eat.
I put together some of my favorite products, and made them into little kits. It was one of those Duh! slap on the forehead kind of moments today!
I wanted to shoot some sample footage with the 5D2 and get it up as soon as I could. I decided to shoot on just the 640x480 quality because I didn't want to have to deal with the massive file sizes and processing power it takes to deal with the 1080p video. And I'm very glad, because I still spend hours working on this. I spent 15 minutes editing and then literally spent 2 hours encoding and re-encoding this video to squeeze the best quality I could out of the file size. I also noticed, after watching it for the millionth time that I could have done better focusing in the first scene. I seem to have auto-focused on the background and having my arm take up the foreground isn't the best either. I shot most of the video in about 20 minutes at lunch though, so I didn't have much time to review.
