small sample using seeding, cross stitch & knots to explore the mix of the different colours. Loved this header card way of mounting. The small pic was on the back of the card I used as my design so I added this over some black 'running' stitch lines.
We put some paint samples up on the back of the garage today to try out possible new colors. From left we've got dancing green, jardin, kiwi, and romaine. There was some significant excitement and disappointment about them so far, but there is a clear frontrunner. We won't make our final decision until we can see them with the sun out, though. Ooh, the suspense!

Vanilla and Chocolate cupcakes with swiss meringue buttercream and fondant. I'm trying out some designs for a friends wedding. I'm in no way a professional, i'm doing it as a gift for my friend.
I have to say that my inspiration has come from looking at Bev (Sugarbloom Cupcakes) Photostream, she makes the most wondefully decorated cupcakes.

Here's a piece of core sample that I brought home and scrubbed clean. It is 7/8 inch in diameter and a tad over 3 inches long. This one is quartz.

I love getting free samples in the mail. So far this week we've received coffee, tea, chipotle & garlic mayo, laundry detergent, and a book on various religious views.
The sample cherry tree started blooming in Yasukuni shrine. Thereby it is announced officially that the cherry trees are in bloom in Tokyo.

I saw coke, diet coke, pepsi, fanta orange/ grape, Dr. Pepper, canada dry, but NO SPRITE! WTF? Aquarius is a nice change from drinking coke or tea. It tastes like Fresca Gatorade. I called the coke and canada dry cans "soda grenades" since they're small and shaped like 'em. yeah...
