The stalls at Chinatown that sell candies and preserved fruits usually allow sampling. Patrons just pick out what they want to sample from the small plastic containers.

Had a nice lil ‘ol itinerary mapped out for visiting Boca Raton; had been on my mind for awhile to finally pay a visit. First up was the Gumbo Limbo Nature Center; interesting place, a variety of nature oriented goodies. The highlight was the 4 story plus high observation tower (Jacob’s Outlook), offering spectacular views of the surrounding countryside. From there though, things took a turn.
A number of sites I wanted to visit turned out being off limits, parking for one area was $35, and other ridiculous knick knacks. Did a mini bridge walk, and that was pretty much it. Wasn’t feeling particularly enamored with Boca, so I vamoosed away. Pleasure sharing a few samples . . .
The gal (my guess as to gender) was picking up and putting back down this fluffy material, presumably thinking about building a nest. The only problem is that 2 feet of snow was predicted for the storm coming in last night. So I hope they didn't work too hard on construction! Canada Geese, Siskiyou County, California
