Crappy cell phone shot of the completed Feather & Fan sampler shawl. I lightly blocked it (no pins or wires) and definitely have a very decent size shawl. Measures approximately 60" across the top.

6 different threadings and 36 different treadlings.

This is my version of the Farm Girl Sampler Quilt from the Farm Girl Vintage by Lori Holt.

To date, this my most favorite quilt that I've made. I love looking at all the different fabrics that were used in this.

Caught up on the 365 Challenge Quilt Sampler today.

I decided that I needed to splash some more color in, and chose aqua.

have been asked to make a cross stitch sampler on the subject of modern life for people on benefits and the history of welfare. the top half says "smash up the workhouse" - the title of a pamphlet by the great George Lansbury, MP, Privy Councillor, one time Mayor of Poplar and poor law guardian. the second sentiment is my own reaction to the idea of forcing people to do low paid jobs not of their choosing, This is not just unemployed people but sick and disabled people who are still medically unfit, but find that the government has moved the goalposts. I'll post a picture of the full sampler when it's finished.

I started this back in 1998 and finished it yesterday! It is about 8" by 18" inches. Naturally dyed silk on linen, sampler #701 by Alyce Schroth.

Baby design was adapted from the Christmas baby design by Joanne Sanderson (see Christmas Baby Pillow in this set) and the rest was personalized and adapted from various design sources. The finished sampler was approx. 8x10" (or 10x12", I can never remember which).
