The glittery copper and brown strip up the center and the heel and toe are fabric from opera costumes. Embellishment was made by a Virginia polymer clay artist. Back and lining are the same copper colored fabric that is on the front of the stocking. 14.5" x5.5"
It's all the same, only the names will change
Everyday it seems we're wasting away
Another place where the faces are so cold
I'd drive all night just to get back home
[Chorus:]
I'm a cowboy, on a steel horse I ride
I'm wanted dead or alive
I'm a cowboy
Wanted dead or alive
Sometimes I sleep, sometimes it's not for days
And the people I meet always go their separate ways
Sometimes you tell the day
By the bottle that you drink
And times when you're alone all you do is think
[Chorus]
I walk these streets, a loaded six string on my back
I play for keeps, 'cause I might not make it back
I been everywhere, and I'm standing tall
I've seen a million faces an I've rocked them all
I'm a cowboy, on a steel horse I ride
I'm wanted dead or alive
I'm a cowboy, I got the night on my side
I'm wanted dead or alive
And I ride, dead or alive
I still drive, dead or alive
Dead or alive [x4]

wanted dead or alive

The Longford Marathon, Half Marathon, and Ultra Marathon was held in Longford on Sunday August 26th 2012 with start times from 09:30 - 11:00. This is now the 11th year of the Longford Marathon. This year the organisers moved the start/finish area away from it's traditional location. However the majority of the routes for all of the races stayed the same. The race is sponsored by Pat the Baker. Proceeds from the race go to St. Christopher's Day Care Centre in Longford. Congratulations to all involved including the organisation committee and the members of Longford Athletic Club. This picture is a selection of pictures from the start of the 3 races and the first lap of the town from all of the three races. Some half marathon finish photographs are included with a small number of full marathon finishers.
The sun was out in force today - for the last Sunday in August. This made conditions tough on runners as the heat of the day impacted on performances. Support was good out on the course - with many locals putting out their own drinks stands outside their houses.
Overall a very successful day - with impressive finish times in all of the events.

This plaque accompanies the mural for the Same Kind of Different library exhibit. It summarizes the remarks made by Sally Gary as she interprets the passage that inspired the artists to paint the mural.

Standing in the same spot as the previous photo, now follow the creek upstream. Mountains in every direction, bottoms of the valleys at 14,000 feet. The building and prayer flags in the close valley are part of Kilung nunnery, the house formerly the late Lama Lungtok's, one of Kilung's enlightened yogi's.
