Rusty is about 2 yrs. old. He was staying at a friends house, so I took a few shots! His personality is more golden than poodle.
This Rusty Catshark was found beneath the Busselton Jetty tangled around a log by about a meter of fishing line attach to its mouth. Unfortunately it swallowed the hook but we did cut it free. We watched it swim about for a few minutes before it settled into the sea grasses.
Another photo I adore! I wish I had found these pics while she was still alive, lost stories break my heart. I also wish I had that amazing suit!

Rusty Blackbirds are a species in trouble with an 85 - 95% population decline since 1970. I've always enjoyed observing them in the field and I hope the decline is soon reversed. Shaffersville Road, Howard County, Maryland.

Taking a picture of Rusty is always an adventure, especially because he usually moves as soon as he sees the camera pointed at him. So, today, while sitting on a park bench, I put my iPhone in portrait mode and started shooting. When he spotted the camera he came up and personal and then laid down for a few additional random shots. Because I wasn’t looking at what the iPhone was seeing I simply kept shooting, hoping I would get a few pics I could use. In the end, I decided to use the full series of shots as the entire experience was a fun one.
