Can't remember what adjustments I used on this to give it a high contrast / high key look, but I kind of like it, particularly since the sky was all washed out anyhow. And I love the reflected trees.

Jim (active metabolite) suggested I explore this rusted out car ... thanks!
I heard a bit more of the story from a fellow dog walker. Apparently it was a stolen car, dumped about six months ago in the bush. The council moved it to where it is now (still in the bush, but near a track it could be towed away from). About a week later, it was torched. It's still not been taken away. To me, it's become a bit of a feature on this particular walk, and I'd miss it!

Built in 1901-02, to supply power to the workshops in the complex, it was one of the first industrial complexes in Queensland to use electricity on a large scale.
In the earliest days of the workshops, machinery was driven by steam power. The site expanded rapidly in the late 19th century and electricity was seen as the key to its modernisation. At the time the area had no electricity supply, so the complex set out to build there own power station.
The powerhouse was run by coal, trains would drive in and dump coal into holding areas bellow the ground level. Down here workers would man handle the coal into the burners.
WIT: I had great plans to photograph some Formula 1 cars, but I really liked the texture and shadows created by this wheel. I also liked the color of the rust. This has been sitting next to our house for years and I never really noticed it.
