Monochromatic street signs kind of defeat the whole purpose. I'd imagine once dusk hits, it might as well not be there at all.

Layered with rust texture

Created for the Rust Challenge on the DW blog. I call this one

Rusted Shut.

 

Some rust on the side of the bridge. I thought it looked neat.

Rusting since the 1950s.

I was trying to get something reminiscent of a Treble Cleft with this one. I like the way the subject and its shadow work together.

#1 was wrapped around a horseshoe, #2 were metal fish pulled of a wall sculpture, #3 tools and nails

This photo was taken in the woods around my parents' farm. According to my father, this old bicycle has always been lying here, in the middle of the forest - even back when he was a kid (we're talking around 60 years here).

 

I wonder what happened to the owner? And how in the world the bike ended up here! It is not exactly a bicycle friendly place.

Rust on paint on paint. It's the layers that add the interest.

Rust is only used with respect to the corrosion of the metal iron. Other metals which corrode do not form rust,
