I wanted to make a PC with a rustic look. It needed to look good in the living room without screaming "I'm a PC!" or looking like a disco jukebox full of lights.
I had lots of wood left over from the Redwood PC mod, it is very pretty wood and a shame to not use. This time I went for a matte finish. The wood was sanded, and a thin coat of polyurethane was applied and left to dry. Then it was lightly sanded back to a matte finish.
The faceplate is 1/4" Paduak hardwood. Laser Etched with a Texas Star. The shell is covered in Paduak veneer (real wood). The veneer overhangs the front to ensure no metal is visible underneath. The vent holes on the side were laser cut to match the existing shuttle vents.
The black bands are brass strips, powdercoated black. They cover up the seams in the veneer which expand and contract based on temperature.
The processor runs completly fanless all the time. Only when doing something intense such as ripping at DVD or CD does the ultra quiet fan kick in.
The harddrive is small, only 40GB, but it is also nearly silent.
Even though this is a HTPC, all large data files are offloaded to a network server with 750GB of space. In fact the entire My Documents folder has been moved to a network share. This also allows the same copy of iTunes to be run off both the server and the HTPC.
Specs:
AMD Turion 64 30-watt 2Ghz Mobile Processor.
1GB of DDR Memory
40GB Harddrive
ATI Radeon All-in-wonder (modifed to be fanless)
Shuttle socket 754 System (Via chipset)
16X DVD Burner

A rather rustic decoration in another display. This was near to the bicycle and bagette seen in a previous photo.
Entirely hand forged from virgin 5160 steel and deferentially tempered. My knives have a tough spine and harder edges. My blades have very thick wide tangs that have been drawn out and forged from the mother blade steel. The full cross sections and profiles of my knives are accomplished at the anvil by forging. Any stock removal is extremely minimal and only serves for finishing and sharpening.
Owning one of my blades means you will take great pride in knowing that it is the only one in the world. I may forge others in similar style and dimension but no two will ever be the same. Hand forging is an extremely difficult and labor intensive art form that produces stunningly beautiful, unique and superior edged weapons. In today’s world of mass CNC machining and cheap investment casting, high quality hand made original works are becoming extremely difficult to find. I forge every edged weapon as if it were my very own to carry into battle. It gives me great satisfaction to think that long after I am gone, my blades will proudly be displayed in silent testimony to my passion for this art form. Please study my feedback and be extremely confident that this item will meet or even exceed your expectations. SEE WHAT THIS SWORD LOOKS LIKE IN HAND BY SEARCHING SAXONFORGE ON YOU TUBE.

Buena Vista, CO, is located in central Colorado roughly midway between Salida and Leadville in the Upper Arkansas River Valley at an elevation of 7,965 feet (2,428 m).
Mini Rusticity: an adorable, wearable & usable miniature journal with antique features for the discerning accessory collector.
With my olde crinkly brown reclaimed leather coat, I strike a pleasing figure to the naked eye. On my cover I am embellished with a tiny, extremely rare authentic antique key measuring a mere 25mm long, which is stitched into my coat with dark rust colored linen thread.
I begin and end with snippets of an advertisement, which were extracted from an almost-antique art periodical published in 1914. In between, you have 36 sheets (72 pages) of hand-torn tea-stained paper to write your little mantras. Once you are finished writing, I’ll bundle up your words with my black leather tie.
Measuring 1 x 1 ¾ inches, I hang from an antique bronze mother-son link chain & secure with a lobster clasp. My entire length of 14 inches makes me a splendid accessory that you can wear, read & admire all at once!

www.1001pallets.com/2016/08/rustic-pallet-rocker/
This Rustic Pallet Rocker only took two pallets and six hours to make. It only cost 15 bucks, too! I also used two upcycled landscaping ties and one 2x6 to do this project.
How I made this Rustic Pallet Rocker:
I cut the first pallet in half lengthwise. I cut one-half of that pallet into two pieces to form the seat. I dismantled all of the deck boards from the second pallet to use as the back. I wanted it to look like an Adirondack chair when I was done. I laid out the back pieces and braced them with two more deck boards, one at the top and one at the lower portion of the back. I carved out the shape along the top of the three boards forming the back of the chair.
I attached the assembled back to the seat using 3" screws. I cut the landscaping ties in half and then made two more cuts to break them down into six pieces. I used four of those as supports for the rocker and two for the arm rests.
I made a stencil of a rocker foot we have at home on our deck. I traced the shape onto the 2x6 and cut them out. I sanded each rocker piece carefully to get the right curve. When I was satisfied, I attached them securely with more 3" screws. I painted the entire piece a rustic brick/barn red in a gloss finish to protect it from the elements. I only sanded the piece lightly to make the piece comfortable but wanted to preserve that rustic look of the pallet boards and the ties.
The chair is comfortable, functional, and I think it looks terrific on our deck. This is a fun project, and if you've got some spare pallets and other scrap lumber, give it a try!

We are going to stay here for the weekend, it's a beautiful place high up in the mountains of Taiwan.
In this small secluded mountain "getaway", there are only 6 small cabins. The whole place was built by the owner and one friend to help him. There is a large wooden deck built hanging over the mountain side with spectaculars views, and a communial "living" room, great food, and...only around US$50.00 per night.....for 2 people.
Room to rent in detached location. Property well-integrated with its environment, with scenic views of rolling hills and bags of rustic lived-in charm. Innovative open-plan layout, susceptible to the occasional breeze...
