This is our master bathroom, featuring my husband's beloved Texas stars. The copper sinks also have the stars embossed in them... The reflection is the spa tub and chandelier above...

Biltmore Estate, Asheville, NC
I took this image on the last journey with my husband (Traveler Jim, here on flickr), as he was recovering from cancer surgery & treatments. We spent a few days in Charleston at a beautiful historic inn, and then we experienced the grandeur of the Biltmore Estate for Christmas. The cancer metastasized a few months later, and Jim died on December 26, 2014. This is my first Christmas without him. I miss him so.
Thank you so much, my flickr friends, for commenting on my images and encouraging me through difficult times. It has been a challenging year to venture out on my own with no loving companion at my side. I plan to continue to hone my photographic skills, travel as much as the budget allows, and showcase examples of my work for your enjoyment.

Included are images of the prototype unit from today's live fire demonstration. I appreciate the use of your facilities for testing, and your feedback on the initial model's shortcomings will be taken into account.
My engineers have already discovered a suitable replacement for the legs used on the prototype that, although slightly less agile, will prove much more stable in the field, and cost less to manufacture. In addition, the external weaponry will be replaced by a less complex, easier to maintain system, at no loss of accuracy within effective range limits of planned usage parameters.
Those issues aside, I believe the prototype to satisfactorily fulfill the primary requirements of the contract:
-Unit must be capable of operation in building/bunker/tunnel environment at no loss of mobility.
-Unit must be capable of clearing interior spaces quickly and efficiently.
-Unit is encouraged to conform to recognized aesthetic guidelines of current production service unit design.
There is still time to modify conditions of the contract in time for changes to effect the pre-production run of 20 field test units.
We look forward to working with you again in the future!
Sincerely,

While each religion holds a uniquely religious structure, from basilicas to cathedrals and mosques, for Buddhists it is the stupa. The stupa, or 'chedi' in Thai, is an important piece of religious architecture in Buddhism with roots dating back to the 5th century BCE.
I think I have a new addiction. These crusty, grungy Rustic Components are my latest creation. I'm having fun dreaming up new color combinations to try. I blogged about it here.

The eclectic decor of Zum Eulenspiegel in the Old Town of Salzburg.
Housed in a white-and-peach building opposite Mozart's birthplace, Zum Eulenspiegel sits at one end of a quiet cobblestone square in the Old Town. Inside, guests have a choice of five rooms on three different levels, all rustically but elegantly decorated.

Can you see the heart??
Spotted this in one of the many tiny backstreets in Mousehole, Cornwall. A very rustic garden set-up with weathered ornaments, tools, tables and chairs - but it fitted the character of the place
I finally found time to visit the geysers of Heart Lake. It is a 16 mile trip that includes a steep climb out over Paycheck Pass. It was amazing and entirely worth the effort. We spotted and were buzzed by three Great Gray Owls on the way in. We witnessed magnificent thermals along Witch Creek. But Rustic Geyser was the star of the show. It erupted about every 17 minutes for us. The pool filled rapidly and then the heat caused convection which causes waves on the surface of the pool immediately before the eruption. Then there is that amazing blue bubble rising from the vent. BLURP! and the eruption is on. The play is for about 30 seconds and the geyser reaches heights of around 20 feet. It is very much like Sawmill in its behavior while in play. We even had an afterburst or second burst during one eruption. I will be back.
