Abandoned train car in field in Wisconsin

A piece of rust on the fence by Hobson's Conduit. I particularly like the flaking visible on the rust in this shot, it shows how the oxidation can pull away at layer after layer of metal, slowly undermining the entire structure.

I saw these two combine harvesters rusting away by the road side on a visit to friends in the small town Nødager.

 

The Dronningborg factory was situated near Randers, one of the largest towns in Denmark.

 

I do not know the age of these two but a sign on one of them had the telephone number 72. In the late 1960's a new system for telephone numbers was introduced in Denmark, so they must be at least 40 years old.
