Today is a red day at Color my World Daily and the theme at Macro Mondays is rust. As a collector and romantic hoarder of anything vintage I’m a rust lover for sure. I find rust irresistible and I have several very rusty items in my collections. I’m always worrying about tetanus (I’m a hypochondriac …) but I love my rusty vintage hooks, nails, screws, keys, bells etc… etc… But I don’t want to rust myself so that is the reason I run and today is my running day !

Das Objekt habe ich bei einem Besuch im Natur-Park Südgelände in Tempelhof-Schöneberg gefunden. Ein18 Hektar großer Stadt-Park der sich auf dem frühere Gelände des ehemaligen Rangierbahnhofs und dem ehemaligen Bahnbetriebsgeländes der D-Bahn befindet.

Ein grünes Erholungsgebiet, dass das Südgelände mit dem Park am Gleisdreieck bis zur Potsdamener Straße verbindet.

„Der Natur-Park Schöneberger Südgelände verbindet auf einzigartige Weise die Elemente Technik, Kunst und Umwelt. I found this object during a visit to the Natur-Park Südgelände in Tempelhof-Schöneberg. An 18-hectare city park located on the former site of the former marshalling yard and the former railway operating area of the D-Bahn.

A green recreation area that connects the southern area with the park at Gleisdreieck up to Potsdamener Straße.

J'ai trouvé cet objet lors d'une visite au Natur-Park Südgelände à Tempelhof-Schöneberg. Un parc urbain de 18 hectares situé sur le site de l'ancienne gare de triage et de l'ancienne zone d'exploitation ferroviaire de la D-Bahn.

Une zone verte de loisirs qui relie la zone sud au parc de Gleisdreieck jusqu'à la Potsdamener Straße.

I still have a few images from my trip to Lake Tyrell in November 2021.

I did post one of this old grader that sits several kilometers out from the shore of Lake Tyrell. It has been stranded there for almost 30 years, slowly rustling away.

"Rust Never Sleeps" is of course the title from Neil Young's Classic album Some consider the term to be a metaphor for artistic vitality. E.g. by staying the same, one is vulnerable to the corrosive effects of aging and obsolescence.

That works for me.

Believe it or not I do have a rust pot of rusted items especially for challenges like this! I used the oxidised under side of the glass jar in the background to create the orange hue.

I'm always looking for photo opportunities when I'm exploring. Sometimes I'll see something unique posted on Facebook or Google Earth and try to find it. Other times I'll just drive aimlessly down roads I've never traveled before. This was one of those unexpected finds. Nested between a couple different farms was this old truck in a field that was far from the road. Based on its condition, I imagine that it was put out to pasture many years ago. May it rust in peace!
