The Makkasan area of Bangkok is well known as being where the main depot of the State Railways of Thailand (SRT) is as well as an area that is known for its slums. The Makkasan Rail Yard is where many old Steam Locomotives and Diesels are under the slow process of restoration. The area also contains the delightful little (old) Makkasan Station, a station that would probably trace its origins back to the opening of the depot as far back as 1910, a century ago.
The objective was simple. Find rust wherever it's hiding, and SHOOT IT!
This Rust Machinery was on the Rugby Field (The Football Field doubles as a Rugby Field too). It's old and abandoned and full of rust. BANG! BANG!! BANG!!!
Rust, or oxidation, is corrosion that occurs when oxygen combines with metal at an atomic level.

bike #4 The bikes on the boardwalk are prone to rust, this frugal bike rider also added a taped on headlight. But for many, this is their only form of transportation and a little ingenuity is needed.
At last a trial of rust dyeing. Not sure if I did it right. I'd coloured this piece of fabric with some tea dying before I did the rust dyeing.
A very rusted water valve on Meck Island on the Kwajalein Atoll, there is a 1999 date noted so this is what 10 year old metal looks like in this environment.
