NLR 1610 builds a train long hold for award this morning. To my knowledge, this thing doesn’t run too often so getting a chance to shoot it moving was quite the surprise, and treat!
Spadina and King in Toronto. Left it open a bit too long, if I hadn't I would've had a much nicer orange glow. I just need a spinner now to descend from the clouds.

OK, who remembers the 80's arcade game Out-Run? I used to love that game. Everything from the brilliant soundtrack to the big red car that featured in it. Actually that's all there was in 1986 but it's still a part of my childhood. That's the inspiration behind this shot.
I can almost feel the sea breeze in my hair, but we all know that can't be possible. Because I'm not near the sea of course. Ahem.
Robert Stephenson & Hawthorns Newcastle-built 0-4-0 saddle tank 'Ajax' (Works No.7042 built in 1941) whistles its way through the eastern end of the Royal Dockyard at Chatham on 25th November 1984. Supplied new to Chatham Dockyard 'Ajax' has spent all of its working life here, firstly as 'Yard No.6' and latterly as No.361 'Ajax'. This was taken during the early days of steam preservation at the dockyard and street running at this end of the dockyard is no longer possible.

As a former runner, I don't understand how, or why, someone runs wearing sunglasses. maybe its me. It probably is.
Recently I bought four Indian Runners to join the menagerie and thought they would make excellent subjects for the old Hasselblad. These photos were taken under natural light in a small catching pen with a dark navy cloth in one corner to serve as a blank background. I used a 21mm extension tube to get a 'portrait' of the ducks with a 150mm lens.
