Dromeas, also called The Runner, is made of individual pieces of glass stacked a top each other to take the blurred shape of a runner in motion. Thousands of sharp, jagged pieces of glass form the sculpture.
The running figure is the work of Costas Varotsos, who began working on it in 1988 and didn’t finish until 1994. It was originally erected at Omonia Square, but it was later moved because people grew concerned construction and the vibrations from the underground metro would cause it to shatter or topple.
It’s a fitting sculpture within a city with so much running history Athens was, after all, the final destination of Pheidippides’s famous run from the Battle of Marathon. But unfortunately, the artwork wasn’t met with unanimous appeal. Though some heralded the innovative sculpture, others were less-than-pleased with its unusual appearance.

The Maze Runner was one of the best books I have ever read. I enjoy it more with every chapter. Now I have just started reading The Scorch Trials. I encourage all of you to check these books out.
This car came about when I received the wrong stickered tiles from the Thai BL seller. (You can see the 1 x 2 black tile with the slightly worn out sticker there) I kept it for awhile, and finally managed to find the sticker sheet.
Decided to build the racer, but it did pose some problems with the smooth mudguards. Am glad that it could be worked around and this is the best I could come out with! :D
Everyone else has been doing spinner MOCs, so I wanted to try something different. A lot of work went into securing the connection of the pistol grip. The trigger is semi-functional, using a click-hinge that returns to center.
"The Brussels Marathon is a tough marathon with a profile that makes it most suitable for serious runners. There is also a less insane half marathon.
Runners start from Cinquantenaire Park in the centre of Brussels and the finish line is at Grand-Place. Brussels isn't exactly the prettiest city in Europe, so there aren't always fantastic sites to see along the way. However the race passes through many of the greener parts of the city as well as the woods and out to the beautiful Africa Museum before pointing runners back to the city."
