Rum, is one of the Small Isles of the Inner Hebrides. For much of the 20th century the name became Rhum, a spelling invented by the former owner, Sir George Bullough, because he did not relish the idea of having the title "Laird of Rum".

Start of our usual weekend...a swift brace of Red Stripe Jamaican lagers followed by a a couple of V/G and tonics.
I know, not very exotic is it but it does help to dull the memories of the past stressful week.

Wadi Rum also known as The Valley of the Moon is a valley cut into the sandstone and granite rock in southern Jordan 60 km (37 mi) to the east of Aqaba; it is the largest wadi in Jordan. The name Rum most likely comes from an Aramaic root meaning 'high' or 'elevated'.
Wadi Rum has been inhabited by many human cultures since prehistoric times, with many cultures–including the Nabateans–leaving their mark in the form of rock paintings, graffiti, and temples.
In the West, Wadi Rum may be best known for its connection with British officer T. E. Lawrence, who passed through several times during the Arab Revolt of 1917–18. In the 1980s one of the rock formations in Wadi Rum was named "The Seven Pillars of Wisdom" after Lawrence's book penned in the aftermath of the war, though the 'Seven Pillars' referred to in the book have no connection with Rum.

The view from Ardnamurchan over to the small isles of Muck, Eigg and Rùm, on what turned out to be a very rare, fine summer's morning (might look better larger).
This one's taken near the end of my little photographic expedition, 25 secs at f20 around 4.30am - the layers of colour and clarity over to the islands has stuck firmly in my mind ever since - despite only having around 2 hours sleep, I left Ardnamurchan thinking "this was exactly what the doctor ordered!"

There are days when the surf doesn't wipe your mind. Sometimes the growl of the road doesn't numb your hunger. I have hit periods where beauty doesn't soothe your soul.
Rum gets you through it. One more day. All I ask is one more day to try.
Today I found a shady spot and a lovely waitress that had no issue drowning me into oblivious painless existence.
Tomorrow I will go one more day trying to find the things I lost. Just one more day, one more day at a time.
