made with my Ballybannan honey.
This Rum was launched a few weeks ago.
I decided to get paid for the honey in rum rather than money, so these 2 bottles of rum were swapped for the 3L of honey that I supplied to flavour the rum. Bartering is best!
Paula is a well known celebrity chef/food writer here in NI. She picked my honey as she wanted something mild with no overpowering notes (so maybe a mixed accolade for the honey?). Anyway I was delighted that she used my honey to make the rum.
From Paula's instagram: "It's infused with locally picked blackberries, honey from Ballybannan in the Mournes, gorse flowers, tail peppers and ginger."
Unfortunately the word "Ballybannan" doesnt make it onto the back label. But still putting this in my 15 mins of fame album!

Some Mount Gay Mauby rum, only available in Barbados apparently, very tasty.
Rum the opiate for the masses in the Dominican Republic.
It is produced there, and consumed in excessive quantities.
Brugal, Barcelo, Bermudez, Macoris whatever it is its cheap
and does the trick.
Alcohol produces more deaths than any other substance.
YET LEGAL......
Tens of thousands are behind bars for posession of Cocaine, MJ Heroine which kill much less people.
Mj not even close.
Alcohol is probably a trillion dollar business in the WORLD.

Our Daily Challenge ... resolution
It was Lachie's second birthday today and these were on the menu. After eating several I have resolved to stop attending children's birthday parties and eating Rum Balls ... without the rum!
Another surprise from my wife for our 1st Wedding anniversary. She got me 7 drams of different rums, varying in price. She also printed envelopes with prices on and set me the task of discovering which rum matched which price. I failed miserably but enjoyed the rums a lot!!

Location: Wadi Rum, Jordan
Wadi Rum (Arabic: وادي رم) also known as The Valley of the Moon (Arabic: وادي القمر) is a valley cut into the sandstone and granite rock in south Jordan at 60 km (37 mi) to the east of Aqaba. It is the largest wadi in Jordan. The name Rum most likely comes from an Aramaic root meaning 'high' or 'elevated'. To reflect its proper Arabic pronunciation, archaeologists transcribe it as Wadi Ramm. The highest elevation in Wadi Rum is Mount Um Dami at more than 1,800 m (5,900 ft) above sea level.
Ya Man!
This is the best Rum! If you know you know, if not, oh well!

I raided a friend's cabinet to take these shots. He has a really nice collection.
