Rum Island Spring lies on a county park west of High Springs, Fl. It is one of several springs located along the Sante Fe River in this region, though most of the other major accessible springs (Ginny, Poe, & Blue) lie on the south side of the river. Its pool forms an indention along the side of the river, and in the summer this makes a popular local swimming spot. With so many springs in close proximity, and with the Sante Fe River forming some picturesque bends near the park, it is a popular area for paddlers.
Wadi Rum (Arabic: وادي رم) also known as The Valley of the Moon (Arabic: وادي القمر) is a valley cut into the sandstone and granite rock in southern Jordan 60 km (37 mi) to the east of Aqaba; it is the largest wadi in Jordan. The name Rum most likely comes from an Aramaic root meaning 'high' or 'elevated'. To reflect its proper Arabic pronunciation, archaeologists transcribe it as Wadi Ramm.(wikipedia)
The film Lawrence of Arabia was partially shot at this location at Wadi Rum on the Hejaz Jordan Railway.

Wadi Rum - Ora della preghiera
Escursione nel deserto di Wadi Rum. Eravamo a goderci il tramonto sulle dune rosse ed io stavo aggirandomi tra di esse in cerca di buone foto. Una delle guide coi suoi dromedari si stava appartando. Appena ho visto che si stava preparando per la preghiera, mi sono posizionato in modo che potessi fare una silhouette. Ho atteso che si chinasse, ho sottoesposto parecchio e ho scattato. E' una scansione di una diapositiva, Fujifilm Velvia 50, nessuna postproduzione.
I had a cracking three days on Eigg earlier this year with my old pals young Billy Currie and old Pete Clayton. The weather was roasting every day and it was one of those situations where nothing quite bit me (apart from each and every one of the variety of insects in our Yurt). Its taken five months to decide if they are worth bunging on here. My boy likes this one best although I'd likely go for the wee church myself. Either way seems easier to just bung a few in the comments. Thanks to everyone who commented on the last upload. To be honest I've been spending more time on Facebook as its easier to navigate. I did intend to call it a day on Flickr but its where I started so I think I'll stay a while longer. My New Years resolution is to do a bit more browsing other folks stuff.
This week I am in Toronto, and while I have not had much time to "photoshoot" in many weeks I did take some time late yesterday to drop by the Distillery District near Toronto's waterfront. I liked this scene and wanted to share it with you.....

Rum and Eigg for breakfast. The view as we left Ardnamurchan this morning made it all the more difficult to leave. What a beautiful part of Scotland this is and the wildlife!!! Sea eagles soaring and gannets dive bombing the seas. The other side of the previous shot shows the variations in the weather in a week. You know there,s puffins to follow...
Bottles from the River Antoine Rum Destillery. A small grenadian destillery,still using old traditional methods and known as the oldest carribean destillery,since 1785.
One has 69%,due to safety regulations in aircraft,for tourist.
The other one is "slightly overproof" with 75% for the local market.

we often spent them together.

Afterwards she did a few silly poses as we recapped our adventure...
Later at my house all sun burnt & loopy...
She flew home the next day.
One month later... I was in CA to be with her as she left this world.

Cancer Sucks!
