The towering sea stacks and gorgeous coastline with red sands attract large groups of visitors a year. Located along the Southwest coast of the Olympic Peninsula, Ruby Beach is seen here in the early morning, captured on large format (4x5) film.

Ruby will be five months old next week (!!) and she's growing fast. We try and weigh her every four weeks or so and today was baby clinic day, so we headed down there to assess her chubbiness.
In four weeks she has gained a healthy 2lbs 1oz and is now creating back pain for both of us with her hefty 15lbs 14oz (7.22kg) weight. She also grew another 2cms and most of her 3-6 month clothes are starting to creak at the seams.
Most of the increased weight gain is probably down to the recent introduction of formula milk but she's always been a healthy eater and was quite large when she was born. She's continuing to eat and sleep really well and looking more and more beautiful every day.
I've had some lovely moments with her today, making her laugh by making funny noises and generally arsing around with her.
It's my girl!
Ruby Beach is one of the real treats of the Olympic coast. It is easily accessed so draws a large number of people. Go early enough, however, and you're likely to have the beach to yourself.
Tannin-laden Cedar Creek created a fresh water lagoon in 2007, the year of this photograph, that created a brown reflection for the trees. The storms of winter, however, often change the geography of the land. What was once a still lagoon is now a raging channel.

I decided to keep the bridge in the shot, even though most try to shoot around it- I think it helps with the scale. The first time I saw Ruby Falls in person I was suprised by the size; for some reason I thought it was only a few feet tall from the photos I had seen.

Her new favourite thing is blowing bubbles! Cutest thing ever when she tries to talk back to me with them :)

This little guy simply would not come out of the brambles. This partial view was as open as I was able to get. Typical Kinglet behaviour and constant activity.
Ruby enjoyed Billy's party...Cake? Cake?..and Gramma enjoyed her!!!
Pretty accessories, unique style of wearing them lol, for she is a real girly girl...and I would love her hair!!!!!!!!
Ruby has very Celtic colouring...my hair was red when I was younger and I got teased unmercifully at school for it, and my freckles as I was probably one of about 2 redheads!!!!!!
