Ruby had a play date with Nick's friend's staffie Bruiser. It was the first time she has played roughhouse with a boy dog, and it was so funny to watch her trying to be top dog! bruiser outweighed her by heaps.
The ruby-throated hummingbirds (Archilochus colubris) are really numerous this year! I'm having to fill the feeders every day.
Playing around with a new point-and-shoot Lumix, a FZ1000 II. Sometimes ya just don't want to carry a bunch of lenses.
No telling how many photos were taking to get these images. They are extremely sketchy and aggressive.

Ruby finally can wear her bigger horn parts again. I' ve glued a magnet the wrong way round but could remove again during a long fight. xD

Monday november 4th, Ruby Wax presented her book “Sane New World” (Dutch “Tem je Geest”) during an interview by Renate van der Zee.
Interview was held in thé most beautiful and exclusive bookshop of The Hague Paagman, in front of an approx 300 head audience.
Ruby Wax, an American comedian, writer and mental health campaigner, opened herself up to the audience and gave the interviewer Renate “A hard time” every now and then, by answering even before the question was asked.
Meaning Ruby was very aware and clear about her own personal story she wanted to tell. Ruby got a master in mindfulness which she got from the university of Oxford.
She expressed herself in her own special way by using arms and body language to reach the audience, which helped as at one point she had the 300 doing exercises in order to hear themselves breathing and grounding.
Although she felt a little ill, Ruby took all the time needed to give autographs and had a kind word for everybody in the, which I think was the longest line ever in Paagman bookshop.
As a surprise Victor (?) turned up, a student who recently dedicated a poem during the TV program ‘College Tours’.
Impressive, catching….one word: Buy the book if you can..!

Ruby will be five months old next week (!!) and she's growing fast. We try and weigh her every four weeks or so and today was baby clinic day, so we headed down there to assess her chubbiness.
In four weeks she has gained a healthy 2lbs 1oz and is now creating back pain for both of us with her hefty 15lbs 14oz (7.22kg) weight. She also grew another 2cms and most of her 3-6 month clothes are starting to creak at the seams.
Most of the increased weight gain is probably down to the recent introduction of formula milk but she's always been a healthy eater and was quite large when she was born. She's continuing to eat and sleep really well and looking more and more beautiful every day.
I've had some lovely moments with her today, making her laugh by making funny noises and generally arsing around with her.
It's my girl!
Ruby Beach is one of the real treats of the Olympic coast. It is easily accessed so draws a large number of people. Go early enough, however, and you're likely to have the beach to yourself.
Tannin-laden Cedar Creek created a fresh water lagoon in 2007, the year of this photograph, that created a brown reflection for the trees. The storms of winter, however, often change the geography of the land. What was once a still lagoon is now a raging channel.
