One of our resident hummingbirds keeping watch over the feeder from his favorite perch.

Strobist: Four 580EXII on stands surrounding the feeder at 1/64 +1/3 at around 10" away. Waited until the ambient dropped well below the flash exposure, 1/200 @ f/11, ISO 100 to knock the background down. Triggered with Pocket Wizards.
Ruby Beach is one of the real treats of the Olympic coast. It is easily accessed so draws a large number of people. Go early enough, however, and you're likely to have the beach to yourself.
Tannin-laden Cedar Creek created a fresh water lagoon in 2007, the year of this photograph, that created a brown reflection for the trees. The storms of winter, however, often change the geography of the land. What was once a still lagoon is now a raging channel.

This location was built and opened in 1999 and closed in March 2020.
This little guy simply would not come out of the brambles. This partial view was as open as I was able to get. Typical Kinglet behaviour and constant activity.
(ARCHILOCHUS COLUBRIS)-FIELD MARKS-metallic green above adult male has brilliant red throat, black chin, whitish underparts, dusky green sides- female has whitish throat;grayish below,buffy wash on sides.
Ruby enjoyed Billy's party...Cake? Cake?..and Gramma enjoyed her!!!
Pretty accessories,unique style of wearing them lol, for she is a real girly girl...and I would love her hair!!!!!!!!
Ruby has very Celtic colouring...my hair was red when I was younger and I got teased unmercifully at school for it, and my freckles as I was probably one of about 2 redheads!!!!!!
Very similar to the other one, but from a slightly different perspective. I love the red flower and how it makes the waterdrop appear to be a ruby jewel ontop. Lots of fun photographing them today. I love waterdrops as you can see. Hope you enjoy them too.
