DB Schenker's 67029 and 67017 came out for a last-minute trip along the coastline to bring back the aluminium train. It was a Saturday-only diagram (6F18 Holyhead RTZ - Warrington Arpley) but the engine which brought it over had to return suddenly to Crewe (37670 - my lordz) for some reason. The pair of skips were sent light engine to Holyhead Sunday morning before returning later in the afternoon.

37422"Cardiff Canton"+37406"The Saltire Society" at Dunham on the Hill with 6D19 06.40 Arpley - Holyhead RTZ empties which was a top Saturday freight to go for being rostered a 37/4 however all's not what it seems as the loco's were ripped at Chester shortly after this. 67005+67025 had worked 1Z66 07.17 Altrincham - Cardiff "Heart of Wales Express" which eventually worked onwards to Cardiff running 2 hours late after it was realised 67's were not permitted south of Llandrindod Wells so the Tractors worked the rest of the tour, I assume the RTZ was left at Chester. I went to Rosset after this but the 37's passed in full rain. Saturday 12 May 2007.

37425 "Pride of the Valleys" + 37401 skirt around the coast at Colwyn Bay with the 6F18 1450 Holyhead RTZ - Warrington Arpley on 31st Oct 09......This was the last run of this working with the aluminium smelter having closed a month earlier....The rooftops of Old Colwyn can be seen in the foreground with Llandudno and The Great Orme in the far distance

Am Samstag dem 29. Januar 2022 wollte ich es versuchen, im Churer Rheintal einige Bilder zu machen. Am Morgen bei meiner Ankunft dominierten noch die Wolken, bis sich die kurz vor dem Mittag verzogen und sich das Wetter nun von seiner besten Seite zeigte. Einen grossen Stellenwert im heutigen Tagesprogramm hatten die fünf STZ, welche auf der S-Bahn Chur bald durch RTZ ersetzt werden sollen. So gelang mir von der S 1 1517 mit dem Laufweg Schiers-Rhäzüns, dieses Bild bei Felsberg. Dabei ist der Stammnetz-Allegra ABe 4/16 3101 "Meta von Salis" zu sehen.

A look at the soon to be rationalized Holywell Junction on the North Wales Coast main line on Sunday 23rd March 1997, finds 37885 on the Sundays only 6E36 Holyhead RTZ Sidings - Humber, receiving a yellow hand signal from the signalman, as it is about to set back over the trailing crossover between the Up and Down main lines, to gain access to the single line working which was in operation over the Down main, between there and Rockcliffe Hall, due to track relaying taking place just on the Chester side of Flint station.
The Up loop is occupied by 37370 with a train of top stone for the relaying site, with the Down Loop holding a spoil train, which will probably end up at Ince Moss tip, Mold Junction tip having closed by this time.
The Duke of Lancaster 'fun' ship without its current modern art installation and the general lack of lineside vegetation now dates the shot somewhat.
Nach einem schönen Wintersporttag, liess ich den Nachmittag bei Celerina ausklingen. Dabei wurde ein IR Chur-St. Moritz festgehalten, und die gepostete RTZ Doppelkomosition. Sie als RE 1343 von Landquart nach St. Moritz unterwegs.

37884 :Gartcosh' (the former 37183) approaches Bagillt Level Crossing on the North Wales Coast line, sometime in 1993 with the Holyhead RTZ sidings - Humber Oil Refinery,petroleum coke empties.
As a swift does a flypast right on cue, EWS 37899 growls past a paddock at Rhosneigr heading the Holyhead (Anglesey Alumium) to Humber coke 'Covhop' empties on 11 June 2000.

We presumed this was the Stuttgart (Kornwestheim) based Rettungsdienstfahrzeug (RTZ) emergency rescue train having a spin with 714 110 leading and 714 102 trailing. Purpose built with rescue, firefighting equipment and an operating theatre the units can be deployed with just 5 minutes notice if a serious accident occurs within a tunnel section on the high speed lines. Was certainly great to see and capture.

The Edmonds Garden is the remains of the garden at the now long gone Edmonds Baking Powder factory in Christchurch. The most famous cook book in New Zealand is the Edmonds Cookbook and is still published. After much wrangling part of the extensive gardens were kept and that is where today's Christchurch Photographer's Group meet up was.
The bench seat is made with a back replicating the old "sure to rise" logo.

The large cement works at Pitstone in Buckinghamshire was served by a short branch from from the West Coast Mainline north of Tring station located at Tring Cutting Exchange Sidings. The works was home to three industrials when this shot was taken in 1990 but sadly was only a little over a year from closure as the parent company RTZ (Rio Tinto Zinc) were able to import cheaper cement from Southern Europe. The works was established here in 1937 to take advantage of the abundant Chiltern chalk and was started by the Tunnel Cement Co. passing to Castle Cement in 1986. It specialized in the manufacture of white cement and sulfate resistant cement (Sulfacrete) until closure on 20/12/1991. The whole site is now a new housing estate with no trace of the works remaining.
This photo depicts two of the 4wDH's No.2 (S 10159/1963) and No.3 (RR 10264/1966) both products of the Sentinel Locomotive Works in Shrewsbury and still carrying their works swords on the radiator grills.
