It is quite normal in Asia to be more than 2 people on a motorbike (i have often seen up to 5 people!).
This is my friends Pierro with Bun Bun (Chelsea), and Wojtek, riding a Royal Enfield "Bullet" motorbike at the Kumbh Mela 2013 festival, near Allahabad (India).
I ended up using this motorbike for the rest of my trip in India and Nepal.

Indian? British? German? A little all of them. Bike from Sommer Motorradmanufaktur in Eppstein, Germany. Made from a Royal Enfield Bullet 500 with a new Diesel-Hatz engine from Bavaria. 11 HP, 462 ccm, needs 1,8 litre per 100 km. And has a absolutely magic sound . . .

I was teaching my brother in law to ride at my home in North Carolina in 2009 and my daughter got some photos.
The Royal Enfield Bullet was originally a British overhead valve single cylinder 4-stroke motorcycle made by Royal Enfield in Redditch, West Midlands, but now produced by Royal Enfield Motors, the successor to the British company, at Chennai (formerly known as Madras), Tamil Nadu in India. The Royal Enfield Bullet has the longest production run of any motorcycle having remained continuously in production since 1948.[1] The Bullet marque is even older, and has passed 75 years of continuous production. The Royal Enfield and Bullet names derive from the company's links with the Royal Small Arms Factory in Enfield.
The 500 cc UCE features fuel injection, and has greater power than any Royal Enfield 500 cc motor. The 500cc UCE, with an integrated 5-speed gearbox, powers the current Bullet Classic model. Starting in 2009 this engine was available only in the EU to satisfy emissions regulations,[1] but is as of 2010 is available in the United States under two frame models, the Bullet Classic C5, or the Bullet G5, which looks similar and shares paneling with the earlier AVL Electra models.

My brother and I backpacked around India in 2004 and we hired a Bullet for 2 days. We already knew about them as Dad rides one. As the pillion it was like sitting in an arm chair, wind blowing through hair (no helmets) with my first camera, Pentax Optio S4 taking photos of the scenery

This is a Yezdi, previously known as Java. These motorcycles were made in India but not anymore as they couldn't survive the competition from the Japs.
Actually these in an interesting story about automobiles in India. Till early 80s, there were two car manufactures in India-Hindustan Motors that made Ambassador and Premier automobiles that made Premier Padmini a car based on Fiat 1100. There were three motorcycles-Bullet made by Royal Enfield and Rajdoot made ny Escorts besided Yezdi.
In the 80s the japanese cars and bikes came to India and the Indian companies that treated buyers liek trash and who had not changed anything in their vehicles were finding it hard to survive. Premier Padmini died and they started making Peugot in late 90s but that didn't do very well either and the company folded. Yezdi was also forced to close shop and Escorts was wise to get in collaboration with Yamaha and flourished.
The only two vehicles that survived were Ambassador and Bullet and they owe it to two factors, nostalgis and governent. Government buys a lots of Ambassadors and Army buys a lot of bullets. Apart from this a lot of people were emotionally attached to these two brands including me who is riding a bullet for the last 11 years.

Ah..The joys of biking on a Royal Enfield bullet...
Is it the sex appeal or its power that make it such a life affirming experiance.

As soon as I saw the theme for the asignment I instantly knew exactly what I had to shoot.
A classic British Bike of the 1950's, the Royal Enflield bullet is now made in India. Long distance motorbike touring has rapidly become one of the most popular ways to see South Asia, particularly Nepal and India, on top of that, the Royal Enfield Bullet is by a long shot the most popular bike to do that with.
Here, in Pokhara City, Nepal, we are living in the heart of Nepal's tourist industry, a must visit small city for anyone entering Nepal, especially if you happen to be travelling on a Royal Enflield, or want to start a Royal Enfield tour. Within this small city there are four businesses dedicated to Royal Enfield bikes and their riders, Bullet Base Camp, a Royal Enfield centred biker bar, Raju's Bullet Surgery, a Royal Enfield specialist Mechanic, Hearts and Tears, a Royal Enfield centred riding school for tourists and those planning a tour and, of course, the official Royal Enfield shop.
Edit- I've just been told there are in fact 8 Royal Enfield centred businesses, I missed out a parts shop and another 3 mechanics in parts of the city I rarely visit. On top of this the bike is so iconic in this area that it features on promotional material for a few more businesses which are unrelated to bikes and biking, including being on the cover of the menu of one very popular tourist bar.
The two beautiful bikes pictured belong to Nathan and Ginette of Bullet Basecamp, the blue fuel tank is that of Nathan's 350cc Bullet, the cream coloured bike reflected on the tank is Ginette's 500cc Bullet "The Boyfriend".
Strobist info:
One bare SB-600, fired with Ebay PT-04 Radio Trigger, full power, behind camera, infront of the blue bike's front wheel to avoid the stand being in the reflection, pointed at "The Boyfriend" to make it stand out in the reflection.

That's a photoshopped picture of a modified Royal Enfield Bullet EFI 500, for obtaining a more sporty looking.
It really is a cheapish english classic motorbike with all the new mechanical adjustments required by the EU law. All built in strong iron and so almost everlasting. The engine has a beautiful sound.
With some little (and cheap) modifications you'll have a very personalized motorcycle, eye-catching and funny to ride.
Then if you are a sidecar enthusiast, you could create also a useful combination, adding a black Cozy Rocket sidecar outfit.

Fire Motorcycle at the Kumbh Mela 2013 festival near Allahabad (India).
The Indian Fire Department at Kumbh Mela had several of those Royal Enfield Bullet 350cc motorcycles equipped with up to 4 fire extinguishers and an oxygen tank. They provide faster access to a fire, given the sometimes very crowded streets of the festival ground, where driving a fire engine might not work well.
