This particular Royal Enfield was in superbcondition when it was spotted as an exhibit at the 2013 Classic Transport Gathering at Crich Tramway Village in Derbyshire, on the 26th August 2013. This particular Bullet was made back in 1950 and it was first registered in the UK, in the same year, on the 15th of February 1950 so presumably has lived in the UK all its life. This one does have its original engine according to the DVLA, a 0.5 Litre (0499cc) engine which runs on petrol.

Indian? British? German? A little all of them. Bike from Sommer Motorradmanufaktur in Eppstein, Germany. Made from a Royal Enfield Bullet 500 with a new Diesel-Hatz engine from Bavaria. 11 HP, 462 ccm, needs 1,8 litre per 100 km. And has a absolutely magic sound . . .

This nice Royal Enfield, a classic name from the past, was first registered in 02/2019. It is seen here just off Dalton Road, Barrow-in-Furness, on 17/07/2021. Not officially on display at the Barrow Festival of Transport, it is owned by the owner of a nearby 'Burger Van'.

The original Royal Enfield was a brand name under which The Enfield Cycle Company Limited, Redditch, Worcestershire, sold motorcycles, bicycles, lawnmowers and stationary engines which they had manufactured. Enfield Cycle Company also used the brand name "Enfield" without the "Royal".

The first Royal Enfield motorcycle was built in 1901. The Enfield Cycle Company is responsible for the design and original production of the Royal Enfield Bullet, the longest-lived motorcycle design in history.

Royal Enfield's spare parts operation was sold to Velocette in 1967, which benefitted from the arrangement for three years until their closure in early 1971. Enfield's remaining motorcycle business became part of Norton Villiers in 1967 with the business eventually closing in 1978. See en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Royal_Enfield

However, this one has been built by an Indian multinational motorcycle manufacturing company headquartered in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, India. It has a tag of "the oldest global motorcycle brand in continuous production and is manufactured in factories in Chennai. Licensed from Royal Enfield by the indigenous Indian Madras Motors, it is now a subsidiary of Eicher Motors Limited, an Indian automaker The company makes classic-looking motorcycles including the Royal Enfield Bullet, Classic 350, Meteor 350, Classic 500, Interceptor 650, Continental and many more. Royal Enfield also make adventurous and off-roading motorcycles like Royal Enfield Himalayan. Their motorcycles are equipped with single-cylinder and twin-cylinder engines. First produced in 1901, Royal Enfield is the oldest motorcycle brand in the world still in production, with the Bullet model enjoying the longest motorcycle production run of all time. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Royal_Enfield_(India)

Fire Motorbike at the Kumbh Mela 2013 festival near Allahabad (India).

The Indian Fire Department at Kumbh Mela had several of those Royal Enfield Bullet motorcycles equipped with up to 4 fire extinguishers and an oxygen tank. They provide faster access to a fire, given the sometimes very crowded streets of the festival ground, where driving a fire engine might not work well.

Kumbh Mela is the largest festival on Earth, taking place once every 12 years, with more than 50 million Hindu pilgrims gathering to pray and bathe in the holy Ganges river.

Katrina Kaif On Royal Enfield Bullet

Riding this motorcycle through the Rajasthan countryside has been a complete joy.

An icon in India, this bike was built to deal with the various road conditions.

Royal Enfield motorcycles had been sold in India since 1949. In 1965, the Indian government looked for a suitable motorcycle for its police and army, for use patrolling the country's border. The Bullet was chosen as the most suitable bike for the job. The Indian government ordered 800 350-cc model Bullets, an enormous order for the time. In 1955, the Redditch company joined Madras Motors in India in forming "Enfield India" to assemble, under licence, the 350 cc Royal Enfield Bullet motorcycle in Madras (now called Chennai). Under Indian law, Madras Motors owned the majority (over 50%) of shares in the company. In 1957 tooling equipment was sold to Enfield India so that they could manufacture components.

Royal Enfield India manufactures and sells in India, and also exports to Europe as well as the Americas, South Africa and Australia. They recently entered the Indonesian market.

Recently Royal Enfield has undergone a major retooling particularly in the engine department going from carburated cast-iron engines to twin spark unit construction engines on all its models, with EFI available on their flagship 500 cc model. This retooling has sparked such an interest in these bikes that they have started double shifts at the plants.

In August 2015, Royal Enfield Motors announced it is establishing its North American headquarters and a dealership in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, with the intention to offer three bikes, the Bullet 500, Classic 500 and Continental GT 535 Cafe Racer

I can't get enough of this bike. It's so much fun to ride. The sound, the rumble, the smell of vintage iron.

Royal Enfield started manufacturing motorcycles in the UK in the year 1949. In 1955, and in order to be able to comply with the motorcycle needs of the Indian Army, they established a satellite production facility in Madras, India. The UK factory closed down in 1970. Since then the Bullet models have been manufactured in India and imported into the UK. Today Enfield India Ltd is owned by the large engineering group, Eicher.

Their bikes have this nice vintage look of classic British bikes, i.e. old Triumph’s and Norton’s. Their performance is the one you find in a vintage bike, too.

I wouldn’t have it as my only bike, but if you are a collector you might want to add a Bullet from Royal Enfield to your collection.

The Royal Enfield Bullet was originally a British overhead valve single cylinder four-stroke motorcycle made by Royal Enfield in Redditch, Worcestershire, now produced by Royal Enfield Motors, the successor to the British company, at Chennai, Tamil Nadu, in India. The Royal Enfield Bullet has the longest production run of any motorcycle having remained continuously in production since 1948. The Bullet marque is even older, and has passed 75 years of continuous production. The Royal Enfield and Bullet names derive from the company's links with the Royal Small Arms Factory in Enfield, London.

Jill & I visited the factory that makes the superb Royal Enfield Bullets..! The factory is in Chennai on the east coast of India. We were in India for two weeks at the end of May beginning of June. It was very hot! Just before the monsoon came.. Temps around 40-42deg C.!

We visited our son Tom & his wife Ellen who are working with a church in Mumbai for a year. Then we popped over to Chennai & Pondicherry for a few days, then back to Mumbai to spend some more time with Tom & El before coming home.!

The Royal Enfield Bullet was originally a British overhead valve single cylinder 4-stroke motorcycle made by Royal Enfield in Redditch, West Midlands, but now produced by Royal Enfield Motors, the successor to the British company, at Chennai (formerly known as Madras), Tamil Nadu in India. The Royal Enfield Bullet has the longest production run of any motorcycle having remained continuously in production since 1948.[1] The Bullet marque is even older, and has passed 75 years of continuous production. The Royal Enfield and Bullet names derive from the company's links with the Royal Small Arms Factory in Enfield.

The 500 cc UCE features fuel injection, and has greater power than any Royal Enfield 500 cc motor. The 500cc UCE, with an integrated 5-speed gearbox, powers the current Bullet Classic model. Starting in 2009 this engine was available only in the EU to satisfy emissions regulations,[1] but is as of 2010 is available in the United States under two frame models, the Bullet Classic C5, or the Bullet G5, which looks similar and shares paneling with the earlier AVL Electra models.
