The Royal Enfield Bullet was originally a British overhead valve single cylinder four-stroke motorcycle made by Royal Enfield in Redditch, West Midlands, but now produced by Royal Enfield Motors, the successor to the British company, at Chennai, Tamil Nadu, in India.

The current range was launched with new engines in 2007. The 500 cc UCE features fuel injection, and has greater power than any Royal Enfield 500 cc motor. The 500 cc UCE, with an integrated five-speed gearbox, powers the current Bullet Classic model. Starting in 2009, this engine was available only in the EU to satisfy emissions regulations, but from 2010 also became available in the USA.

The Bullet Electra EFi is described by its makers as the classic motorcycle, symplistic in design with a new robust and reliable unit construction engine

Speaking with Andrew, one of the latest Volunteers at Abingdon Lock. This is one of his collection of five motorcycles that he owns.

Another breathtaking view of ladakh! So many of my friends like Ezhil Ramalingam have been to Leh this year! My son and his gang of 10 Royal Enfield Bullet bikers are currently there. The place is ADDICTIVE! Must go again. The blue skies and bizarre scenery keeps calling me. The Gompas and the nice people beckon me! See the road at what is called Captain Mod!

The Royal Enfield Bullet was originally an overhead-valve single-cylinder four-stroke motorcycle made by Royal Enfield in Redditch, Worcestershire, now produced by Royal Enfield (India) at Chennai, Tamil Nadu, a company originally founded by Madras Motors to build Royal Enfield motorcycles under licence in India. The Royal Enfield Bullet has the longest unchanged production run of any motorcycle having remained continuously in production since 1948.

The Bullet marque is even older, and has passed 75 years of continuous production. The Royal Enfield and Bullet names derive from the British company which had been a subcontractor to Royal Small Arms Factory in Enfield, London.

The rather rare Black version of the Scalextric vintage Blower Bentley released in the early Sixties and a Royal Enfield Bullet cycle.

The Bentley still runs magnificently for a sixty year old slot car.

WATSONIAN GP MANX SIDECAR

The GP Manx sidecar is shorter and lighter than the Grand Prix. Like the other Grand Prix models, it has a fibreglass body that sits in a tubular steel perimeter frame, with a black powder coating to keep it looking good. Suspension is hydraulic and either 16” spoked or 10” cast aluminium wheels can be specified.

Jill & I visited the factory that makes the superb Royal Enfield Bullets..! The factory is in Chennai on the east coast of India. We were in India for two weeks at the end of May beginning of June. It was very hot! Just before the monsoon came.. Temps around 40-42deg C.!

We visited our son Tom & his wife Ellen who are working with a church in Mumbai for a year. Then we popped over to Chennai & Pondicherry for a few days, then back to Mumbai to spend some more time with Tom & El before coming home.!
