The density of living people in Cairo is among the highest in the world and the city is growing at a worrying pace: around a million a year. So if there's space on a rooftop it will be filled up...

This picture is part of my 'Roundtrip through Egypt'-serie which features pictures from Cairo, Bahariya, Aswan, Luxor, Dahab & St. Katherine.

This was taken out in my back garden as the sun was going down. I was blown away by the beauty of it and recreated it in an oil painting. It has been well received.
