There is such an overwhelming collection of rooftops outside my office window. I don't ever seem to learn to draw them accurately. But then I'm drawn to this scene whenever the sun sends shadows over the buildings...

About 30 miles from me is an Indian casino named Winstar. I've heard that it's the 3rd largest casino in the world. I have been by this complex many, many times because it's right on Interstate 35. Then one day I happened to notice that right at the end of this large complex, casino, motel and restuarant sat this little sad house. So before they could totally demolish it, I had to save it by preserving it with my camera. My husband said he had heard that there was an elderly couple that had held out on selling their property to the Indians. I really hope that they are now in the South of France on vacation.

Here is what we have in the way of rooftops.
I read one time that when you fly over Phoenix all you see is a vast sea of terracotta tile roofs. Except for Commercial buildings and older homes these are the kind of roofs most of the homes have. There are several shades brown but from an airplane they all look alike.
It because of our severe heat and constant sunshine that these are the logical choices.
