Rooftop Gardens are often an effective measure of bringing back nature to the expansive concrete jungles of cities such as Taipei. Common consensus amongst elites in Taiwan is that Rooftop Gardens are beneficial to buildings and the enviroment by offsetting emmissions.

From 1974 to 1990, the Taipei City Government provided free soil, fertilizer, plant material and reference books to residents who applied to construct rooftop gardens. A friend loaned me his bachelor pad on the outskirts of Kathmandu while he was back in his home country. His place is on the very top floor of a house similar to the one in the foreground of this photo, with expansive views of the city.

The Rooftop Express is a pretty funky show involving a truck and gooseneck caravan setup with great colourful lights, horses, cattle, men on the horses, commentary from a man on the horse, all good fun. It is a good show and I recommend you see it somewhere, have seen it in Sydney, Toowoomba and Brisbane of course. This particular group of frames delivered some really cool smoke action as well as the light trails and some fireworks.
