My last posted image of 2011. I appreciate all the support from my contacts and viewers. It has been an awesome year where I have learned and been inspired by so many of your images. I cannot wait to see what everyone captures in 2011. I'm still surprised that I only picked up a dslr in late 2009. I really owe a lot of my growth to the images I've seen on flickr. Happy 2012!
This shot is a 317 second long exposure of the harbor at dusk. I am investing in a set of GND Filters (waiting for Lee Filters to get in stock). Hopefully, I won't be stuck using digital GND filters to fix these types of shots.
Of course, I am always looking out for great private rooftops or unique public locations and if anyone knows of any please contact me via flickrmail or rbudhuphotos [at] gmail.com.

- Yellow-legged Gull (Larus michahellis) -
On a ridge of sun-baked tiles, the gull stands like a small sentinel against the flawless Algarve sky, one foot tucked, eye bright, the roof’s salted geometry stepping toward the sea; the day hums with heat and quiet, and the bird keeps its easy watch over chimneys, waves, and wind.
With charming water tanks on the rooftops, a view from the Roosevelt Island Tram cable car, New York.
Viewed from the restaurant of the National Portrait Gallery, Trafalgar Square (/ˌtrəˈfælɡər/ trə-fal-gər) is a public square in the City of Westminster, Central London, built around the area formerly known as Charing Cross.
Its name commemorates the Battle of Trafalgar, a British naval victory in the Napoleonic Wars with France and Spain that took place on 21 October 1805 off the coast of Cape Trafalgar, Spain.
The site of Trafalgar Square had been a significant landmark since the 13th century and originally contained the King's Mews.
After George IV moved the mews to Buckingham Palace, the area was redeveloped by John Nash but progress was slow after his death and the square did not open until 1844. The 169-foot (52 m) Nelson's Column at its centre is guarded by four lion statues. A number of commemorative statues and sculptures occupy the square but the Fourth Plinth, left empty since 1840, has been host to contemporary art since 1999.
The square has been used for community gatherings and political demonstrations including Bloody Sunday, the first Aldermaston March, anti-war protests, and campaigns against climate change. A Christmas tree has been donated to the square by Norway since 1947 and is erected for twelve days before and after Christmas Day.
The square is a centre of annual celebrations on New Year's Eve. It was well known for its feral pigeons until their removal in the early 21st century.

For the Rooftop Walk in Rotterdam a 30 metres high temporary bridge over the Coolsingel has been made. I connects the buidling of the Beurs with the rooftop of the Bijenkorf department store.

Despite being a rooftop, this is not a private location. Office buildings, condos, and hotels tower nearby. If anyone was watching, though, I was thankfully ignorant. The windows are too reflective to see inside and don’t open to allow catcalls.

Tokyo really knows how to make use of every bit of space available...this roller coaster should be a fun ride zooming around the rooftop and through a ferris wheel!

Photographed at Hanbury Hall, a National Trust property located in Hanbury, Worcestershire.
It was the simplicity and geometry of the photograph together with the warm colours produced by the winter sunshine that caught my eye.
A nice place to relax and meditate.
