Northstar 1901, the only northbound reverse commuter train scheduled, makes its 6:40AM departure right on schedule. While the Twin Cities seem to have a healthy multimodal/transit infrastructure, commuter rail has really struggled since the pandemic. These reverse commute trains were among those added in late 2023 in an effort to reverse a ridership death spiral. Time will tell if it's enough to keep the service viable.
a steam excursion from Paddington to Cardiff passing through Newport (Gwent) with the Flying Scotsman on the rear of the train to allow it to pull the train on the reverse journey.
sadly due to freight movements blocking many who came to see run through only saw as it had left newport.

Landing at our short airport just after rain I wondered how their brakes were but they use a lot of jet power to stop the jet. Although we are landing at 200 Kmph or something the spray is being blown forwards faster than that. We stopped in time and the landing was more gentle than lI expected.
As I mentioned in one of my previous shots, I bought a reverse ring for mounting my Canon EF-S 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 as a magnifying glass.
That's the first picture I took outside.
I chose f/8.
It's an European garden spider (Gartenkreuzspinne; Araneus diadematus), magnification ratio was about 2.5:1.
I hope you like it :)
Next step will be jumping spiders and stacking :D

While shooting portraits, I ''try'' to go on different paths, open new doors, see in different angles, approach on other ways..I say I try, because I can not guess on the results sometimes or neither on the reactions. Trying or experimentaling is usualy risky, not going on the safer zone but entering different zones, but is definately fun and refreshing.

A BNSF helper set consisting of a former Burlington Northern SD60M and SD40-2 has just finished shoving a loaded coal train from Denver to Palmer Lake, CO on the Joint Line. The very clean duo is about to cut away from the train before reversing back north to Denver.

This is another version of Fire on Ice I posted few days ago. After shooting near the ice waterfall, I ran away from it quickly and took a pano to show the whole view of the reverse tunnel view.
