The fasteners for the auto barrier on 45th Street extended too far, posing a danger to pedestrians' shins and knees. I reported it via the Austin 311 web app, attaching the photo, and a week later, the bolts were trimmed down.

This is my submission to hopefully get a dribbble invite. It;s a snapshot of my new responsive website UX based interface. It has a nice colour pallette with nice combinations. Hoping to get drafted.
Here are my favorite shots from the Continental Tire Monterey Grand Prix last weekend - covering IMSA Weathertech SportsCar Championship, Contintental Tire SportsCar Challenge, and Lamborghini Super Trofeo practice on Friday.
Really feel like I got some nice shots this time - tried some new things, found a few new spots to shoot from, and had a great time seeing these awesome racecars in person. I split my shooting between my Sony A9 and a rented D500 - I've been missing the feel, controls, and responsiveness of a DSLR, and was thinking about moving back. Shooting at the track, I definitely felt like I was reaching for the D500 more often, and it felt more reassuring and capable in my hands (the A9 is NO slouch, but does have some UX quirks), but getting home and reviewing my shots, I got a similar keeper percentage from both cameras, with one important exception - the hits from the A9 were *stunning* and the D500 is great, but the files just couldn't match in my opinion. If you're flipping through, try to guess which camera took each shot. ;)
Excited I was able to make it to this event (even if it was only for practice/qualifying) and can't wait for next year (and PWC coming up next month!)
All shots taken from spectator areas. Gear used:
Sony:
Sony A9
Samyang 35mm f1.4
Sony 85mm f1.8
100-400mm GM
Nikon:
Nikon D500
Nikon 20mm f1.8G (Also used on A9 with Vello adapter)
Nikon 70-200mm f2.8 VRII (Also used on A9 with Vello adapter)

PATRICK AIR FORCE BASE, Fla. - The 641st Regional Support Group, an Army Reserve logistics and transportation brigade based in St. Petersburg, Fla., conducted a Best Warrior Competition and Officer Challenge Jan. 24 at Patrick Air Force Base, Fla.
Both competitions took place during the final full day of Operation Responsive Sentinel, a sustainment training and disaster relief field exercise comprising approximately 20 units and 900 Soldiers. Resolve Sentinel's operational and tactical missions at Port Canaveral, Patrick AFB and the Air Force's Malabar Transmitter Annex offered numerous opportunities for the troops to apply their military and civilian skills to plan, organize and execute objectives on land and sea.
The Best Warrior Competition featured six enlisted Soldiers representing several companies and battalions attached to the 641st RSG. The half-dozen men and women faced off in a various warrior-oriented tasks ranging from a written exam and sergeants major interview board to a ruck march and a rifle and pistol qualification round.
The top two competitors will represent the 641st RSG in the 143d Sustainment Command
(Expeditionary)'s Best Warrior Competition planned for March 9-13 at Camp Blanding, Fla.
While specialists and sergeants shot, sang, ran and marched their way to the finish line, scores of junior officers formed at Patrick AFB's Education and Training Center to test their strength, dexterity, memory and morale in the 641st RSG's officer challenge. Teams of five officers competed at six unique

United Nations police week 2017
Discussion among heads of United Nations police components, UN Women and Police Division on achieving gender-responsive policing.
On Monday, the Security Council adopted resolution 2382 (2017), which supports operationalizing the Strategic Guidance Framework for International Police Peacekeeping. The resolution also recognized the important role that United Nations police components play in the protection of civilians, including in preventing and addressing sexual and gender‑based violence, and violations and abuses against children.
In his address to the Security Council, Under‑Secretary‑General for Peacekeeping Operations Jean‑Pierre Lacroix said the United Nations police played a continued vital role in bridging the Organization’s work from prevention and peacekeeping to peacebuilding and development (Video recording). The Police Commissioner of the United Nations Mission for Justice Support in Haiti (MINUJUSTH), Brigardier General Georges-Pierre Monchotte, briefed the Security Council on good practices of reforming the Haiti National Police (video recording). The Police Commissioner of the United Nations Multidimensional Integrated Stabilization Mission in Mali (MINUSMA), Issoufou Yacouba briefed on strengthening the serious and organized crime capacities of the Malian security forces (video recording). Police Commissioner Priscilla Makotose of the African Union/United Nations Hybrid operation in Darfur (UNAMID) briefed the Security Council on gender responsive policing (video recording). Following the briefing, Security Council President, Italian Ambassador Sebastiano Cardi, the Head of UN peacekeeping USG Jean-Pierre Lacroix and Police Adviser Luis Carrilho (UNPOL) delivered a press briefing (video recording).
On Tuesday, the discussions of heads of UN police components focused on partnerships, good practices and challenges of UN capacity-building. More than 11,000 United Nations police officers from 89 countries (as of September 2017), are mandated to assist host-States in reforming their police and other law enforcement institutions.
Building on Security Council resolution 2382 (2017), Police Commissioners focused on Wednesday on how police can be more effective in conflict prevention, peacekeeping and peace sustainment. Heads of UN police components also discussed how to achieve gender-responsive policing. As of September 2017, 1,118 female police officers from 70 countries serve in peacekeeping operations and special political missions. They act as role models for gender equality, inspiring women and girls to advocate for their own rights and pursue careers in law enforcement.
On Thursday, United Nations Secretary-General António Guterres briefly met and took a photo with the Under-Secretary-General for Peacekeeping Operations, Jean-Pierre Lacroix, Assistant Secretary-General for Peacekeeping Operations, Bintou Keita, Assistant Secretary-General for Rule of Law and Security Institutions, Alexandre Zouev, UN Police Adviser Luis Carrilho and Heads of police components in UN peace operations. In his message, Secretary-General Guterres stressed that United Nations police save countless lives, heal community tensions. The Secretary‑General also called for more women in United Nations police command positions.
Earlier on the same day, the UNAMID Police Commissioner Priscilla Makotose, MONUSCO Police Commissioner Awale Abdounasir and MINUSCA Police Commissioner Roland Zamora briefed the Special Committee on Peacekeeping Operations (C-34) on transitioning, gender/electoral security and capacity development respectively.
On Friday, UN police week closed following a session on human rights in UN police activities. The closing remarks were delivered by Alexandre Zouev, Assistant Secretary-General for Rule of Law and Security Institutions, Bintou Keita, Assistant Secretary-General for Rule of Law and Security Institutions and UN Police Adviser Luis Carrilho.

On 23 - 24 November 2022, UN Women hosted the regional conference on “Transformative financing as an accelerator for gender equality: drawing from gender responsive budgeting experiences and lessons learned”. The event brought together high-level government officials and practitioners from Ministries of Finances, line ministries, national gender mechanisms, local government representatives, Supreme Audit Institutions, civil society organizations and media, and provided a platform for exchange of experiences in the implementation of gender responsive budgeting.
