Under the EmPower: Women for Climate Resilient Societies (EmPower) Programme, UN Women and the UN Environment Programme (UNEP) co-organized the regional cross-learning workshop "Delivering Solutions: Accelerating Gender-Responsive Climate Action in Asia and the Pacific" from 3-5 March 2025 that provides a collaborative platform for regional stakeholders, such as government representatives and development partners, to engage in meaningful dialogue and share experiences in advancing climate action across the Asia-Pacific region.

🇵🇰🆔 Pakistan–Indonesia Exposure & Learning Visit | Advancing Gender-Responsive Justice, Peace & Security
[Indonesian National Police Headquarters (Mabes Polri)]
A high-level Pakistani delegation undertook an exposure and learning visit to Indonesia, jointly organized by UN Women Pakistan and UN Women Indonesia, with support from the Embassy of Germany in Pakistan.
The visit enabled peer learning on Indonesia’s community-driven, women-led justice and peacebuilding models, highlighting how justice forms the foundation of sustainable peace.
Delegates engaged with national institutions of Indonesia — including the Ministry of Women’s Empowerment and Child Protection, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Indonesian National Police, Indonesian Human Rights Commission, National Commission on Violence Against Women, and National Counter Terrorism Agency (BNPT)—to explore gender-responsive governance, security, and survivor-centered service delivery.
A key highlight was the visit to “Imah Tentrem” (Peace Village) in Depok, West Java—a flagship community-based peace and resilience model. Grounded in women’s leadership and empowerment, the model integrates conflict prevention, early warning, protection, and community mediation, while strengthening livelihoods, social cohesion, and local resilience. Through dialogue with community leaders, the delegation gained insights into Indonesia’s whole-of-government and whole-of-society approach to gender mainstreaming and preventing violent extremism (PVE).

Workshop on Gender Responsive Planning and Budgeting Guideline and Monitoring Tool in Kurigram, Bangladesh
As a significant component of the WING project, this workshop aims to enhance knowledge and raise awareness among elected UP members and WDFs regarding the 30 per cent allocation of the UP's budget. Through interactive sessions, participants learned various processes for preparing a gender-responsive budget. The workshop emphasized the importance of effectively allocating local government resources to support women's participation in socio-economic and political development. It focused on mainstreaming gender into local planning, promoting women's economic empowerment, increasing their political participation and leadership, and addressing violence against women and girls.

Multi stakeholder consultation on Gender-Responsive Climate Financing in Bangladesh
To commemorate International Women’s Day, UN Women Bangladesh held a multi-stakeholder consultation on “Gender-Responsive Climate Financing in Bangladesh” on 6 March 2024. Focusing on this year’s theme “Invest in Women: Accelerate Progress” the consultation brought together stakeholders government officials, women-right organizations (WROs), non-governmental organizations (NGOs), development partners, and academia to provide recommendations on integrating gender considerations in the climate budget, in the lead up to the upcoming national budget (for the fiscal year 2024-25). The Honorable Minister for Environment, Forest and Climate Change (MoEFCC) Mr Saber Hossain Chowdhury was present as the Chief Guest, and MoEFCC Secretary Dr. Farhina Ahmed attended as the Special Guest.
