Daniel Boone is one of my ancestors. This replica of Fort Boonesborough was dedicated on the day I was born--August 30, 1974,
A photographic record of the making process involved in creating a replicable component.
From foam model, to plaster mould and slip casting to kiln firing.
This image was my first attempt at replicating the work of Mike Blabac and so this image uses the components that are very similar to 'Skateboarding #2' in order to practice this style and started to develop my own style of skateboarding photography as this was the very first image that I had taken for this project. As I am an avid skateboarder I already had a good knowledge of photographers and images I could accurately recreate the styles of. I found images in skateboarding magazines such as Thrasher Magazine and other online sources, Thrasher was a source for my research as this is a magazine that I regularly read. I did not try to apply my own style to this image, I just tried to recreate some of the images that I found in my research. I did have to adapt the style to work in my own environment so the image was not as straightforward as it would have been to recreate an image in a studio like a portrait. I had to persevere in order to get the final image I was aiming for.
Replicating some interesting photos from the 1930s, Rebecca asked me to shoot her portrait for a theatre programme.

Quote illustrated: “In five years I expect exams to take place on computers. Nowadays we can type faster, and it’s more representative of the workplace and LSE strives to kind of replicate reality in your exams.”
