The pendant lamps came with white cord. Of course, we want black. I found out that computer power cords are the right type (18 gauge) and ordered 3 15' from monoprice.com. Snip the ends and replace; sounds easy. Mostly a pain in the butt.
I went to use the zip on my wallet when the little handle part snapped off, which was pretty annoying. Perhaps it wasn't strong enough to be pulled around by my fish pendant thing which I have always had in my previous wallet for years.
Anyway, my replacement solution doesn't look too bad
There's some kind of heating system buried under the turf, so it doesn't freeze in the harsh Pittsburgh winter. That system burst recently, causing damage to the turn. We happened to be touring while they were replacing the turf.
Built in 1970, this Brutalist subway station with two Modern International-style above-ground entrances was built to replace the original Metropolitan West Side Elevated Terminal station that stood at the corner of Kedzie Boulevard and Linden Place, adjacent to the Logan Square Auditorium, which opened in 1895 and closed upon the completion of the first portion of the Blue Line O’Hare Extension, which included the present Logan Square and Belmont subway stations and the first portion of the line in the median of the Kennedy Expressway up to Jefferson Park. The line was completed to Rosemont and O’Hare International Airport in 1982-1983, and today, is one of the busiest lines within the Chicago rapid transit system.
After photographing the case and its contents, I closed it and put it back where I had found it. Then I moved to a different spot to take this shot...
