After evil bunny rabbits killed off an arbor vitae shrub with over 20 years of spreading roots in the house landscaping, it took a lot of effort with hand tools to remove it, and replace it with a new lilac bush. I've missed having any lilacs on the property the past few years, so hope this new one holds out a while.

In an industry continually being replaced by machine, Sawyer Coffee Roasters looks to reinstate the handcrafted quality to brewing coffee. The brand pays homage to the sawyers from our very own Pacific Northwest. Their industry too has been largely replaced by machine. The original sawyers, however, understood that there is a quality derived through products crafted by hand. Sawyer Coffee Roasters reminds it's customers of this sentiment with an industrious design and timber motifs.
Built in 1928-1929, this Spanish Colonial Revival and Art Deco-style building was designed by Lescher and Mahoney and Edward Neild to serve as Phoenix City Hall and the Maricopa County Courthouse. The building replaced separate earlier courthouse and city hall buildings, built in the late 19th Century, which had been outgrown by the city and county governments. The building itself, however, was outgrown due to the rapid pace of the city’s development after World War II, with a new City Hall being built in 1963, and a new County Courthouse and County Administration Building in 1964, both of which stand on the blocks adjacent to the Old County-City Administration Building. The building has an H-shaped footprint and is built of reinforced concrete with a terra cotta exterior, a rusticated base, a red terra cotta tile hipped roof atop the tallest portion of the building, arched primary entrance bays on the Washington Street and 2nd Avenue facades, arched bays on the fourth floor, casement windows decorative Art Deco reliefs, decorative window trim, balconies at the second floor, and pendant-style light fixtures flanking the entrance bays. The building was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1989. Today, the building houses The Phoenix Police Museum, Maricopa County Justice Museum, and some Maricopa County Superior Court functions.
We obtained the building permit and handled all inspections. We obtained approval from the Homeowner's Association to proceed with the work. We saw cut and removed the existing driveway which was cracked and deteriorated. We removed all debris from the premises. We fully compacted all soil. We poured the new driveway with 4000 PSI concrete with fiber mesh reinforcement. We hand troweled the concrete with a double boom finish. We cut all expansion joints accordingly.
The main outer plate of the RV pedestal is back in place, and the 30A plug to the travel trailer is back where it belongs, keeping the trailer "hot."

If you have a weak stomach, look no further. I just dug these up from an old DVD and thought I should upload them for posterity. These aren't even the pictures from when I first bought the house. There were actual walls in this pit. Some of them covered with "marbled" glass tiles. This makes me look at my basement now in an entirely new light.

Replacing drop-outs. Drop-outs (beads that stayed behind) are primarily caused by short beads. They all need to be replaced with beads of normal height.
One fell off the sprue to be lost forever, so I had to replace them with music wire. Ironically after I took this photo, I found the missing one. Go figure.
Plandampf (replacing timetabled trains with steam hauled trains) over a weekend in 2005, centred on the town of Landau, Germany. Normal railway tickets are purchased to ride the trains, which are shared by bewildered locals having to endure packed, unheated old carriages to make their normal journeys.
