This was a duo-tone piece before the second round of paste came off. It was inspired by an alpine flower book and a Steampunk sensibility. The contours of the shoulder and the swirls of the flower harmonize with the circular gears. For any young neo-Victorian lady looking for an stylish plate armor upgrade!

I had some lovely rhinestone jewelry lined up for the Monday restock, but then I found this pretty magnificent vintage pale blue & natural wooden bead necklace. It goes perfectly with the other items in the next collection hint hint; available Monday, May 21st in the shop!

Strange... 3 of the original light blue pens have darkened up a bit but the 2 replacement pens look great.

FN09AOF arriving at Royston on a rail replacement service from Cambridge on 9 June 2013. I have found nothing on the interweb to say who operates this vehicle, which was new to Doig of Glasgow, but I think it may have been recently acquired by the Dew Ron Ron.

The "Seattle National Bank" plaque is gone, but the building remains from the far right of the 1914 photo.

Not much else looks the same. The brick roadway, focal point of that photo is gone. The buildings across the street have been replaced. On the far left now is the 1959 Norton Building by Norton Clapp, one of the men behind the Space Needle's construction. Beside it is the 1924 Bank of California Building. Both are city landmarks. Beyond Cherry Street is the 1973 Federal Building which wiped out the beautiful Burke Building and several other great pieces of architecture. In the distance is the creatively named Second and Seneca Building, I'll let you figure out where that is located.

Although we've replaced the old architecture with several memorable new structures, the street clocks have vanished. The Bank of California building has a classy clock above the entrance, but Key Bank has covered it up with their awning. What nutcase approved that on a historic building?

Day 1 of the "decrepit fence replacement"

This is the back with the fence removed, before Dan cut down a bunch of the ivy. See what we're up against? (Well not "us"...we're having a fence company do it :))

The original had a horrible buzzing in one speaker. Four visits from the repair guys failed to fix it, so we "qualified" for a replacement. Unfortunately, that model is no longer made. So brand new model, only another £100 (which is £100 off).

Our Poppery II popcorn maker (used as a coffee roaster) has been

slowing down on us. I can roast beens for 10 minutes and only obtain a

light roast. While thrift store shopping this week I found a coffee

roaster with the side vents for only $4. It looks identical to our

poppery II except for the fluorescent green case. Our new coffee

roaster is now burning beans if I leave them in for seven minutes. I

hope we will not have to replace these units every year. I bet the

heating element wears out.
