St Leonard's at Cotheridge is an unusual white-rendered church with a weatherboarded tower/porch (thought to date back to c1300). Light and plain whitewashed nave with a small Norman chancel arch and flanking openings, both glazed and revealing little of the chancel beyond, a reminder of the collapse of the nave roof following a storm and it's rebuilding in the 1950s, during which time the chancel remained in use separately from the roofless nave. It says a lot for this tiny community that they fully restored the building rather than take the easy option as many would have done.
There are a few remarkable medieval tiles on the chancel floor, including elephant head motifs! The east window is by local architect/artist Frederick Preedy.
