I took a couple of photos (this one and "Pen To Paper") for this weeks Macro Monday's group but I'm not sure that either one is very good. 🤔 May try another photo tomorrow.

The best little RC plane I have ever seen for the money. Speed and range incredible and even a kid can fly. He is a skilled pilot though!

German Submarine U-69. U-boat.

German submarine U-69 was the first Type VIIC U-boat of the German Navy during World War II. This meant that compared to previous U-boats, she could travel further afield for longer, with a payload of fourteen torpedoes, an 8.8 cm deck gun for smaller vessels and a flak gun for use against aircraft.

The pumping station returned to steam after the long winter months with model submarines in the pond and on display, plus a craft fair, live music and children's play area. A good time had by all :)

Day 129 - October 16th, 2007. Nothing like starting the day off by throwing up in the office in the middle of a conversation with your boss. No, I wasn't hung over. Anyway, today was pretty great! New bicycle = my love. Grey and Janessa and I went to slice of life for dinner and then came to my house and watched Rufus Wainwright music videos and the Andy Warhol/Edie Sedgwick film Poor Little Rich Girl.

These little Mercedes are in our mall this week and boy, do they catch the eye. Men especially, stop and look and also car-loving me. They are big enough for someone 4 years old or under to sit in and have MP 3, radio with 26 stations, leather seats, soft tires and seat belts. They're remote controlled and cost $350.

Don and I wondered where you could have your child drive them? It's hilly around here and they couldn't go in the street safely. BUT, they are absolutely beautiful in every detail.

One more below:

"Vorrei che tu mi amassi e poi... non so più, allo stesso tempo vorrei che tu non mi amassi.

Io sono una ragazza molto indipendente sai?

Ebbene, io ti amo, ma non come tu credi.

E come?

Non come tu credi."

As manufactured by the Best Company, San Leandro, California, around 1905. Some of these behemoths remain preserved, even operational. Best merged with the Holt Company (known for their tracked vehicles) in 1925, to become Caterpillar.

The Best traction engines are easyly recognized by their three-wheeled design and their upright boiler - the horizontal tank is a water container. Other than that, the design was pretty antiquated for its time, with no brakes, no gear shift, and a top speed of about 4mph.

The most prominent Best engine is "Old Dinah", purchased in 1894 for hauling borax through Death Valley. Today it can bee seen sitting at Furnace Creek, in a pretty desolate state.

Another preserved engine, the very one that inspired me to this build, is nicknamed "Susanpuffer" and can be seen in action here on youtube:

Trying to be creative lol

This photo shows engineers from Llwyngwril Space Systems climbing aboard the Leviathan 20 Mobile Landing Pad to add the finishing touches. The team is waiting for good weather and good light so that they can take the photos for the sales brochure. Prominent in the background is a stripy door whose design was stolen from Paul Hartzog by an elite industrial espionage team.

I don't usually publish WIP photos but I've been fighting this build for a while now. It's also involved a Seriously Huge Investment in Parts and learning how to build in Technic properly. It's finished but living in the west of the United Kingdom means that I might have to wait a while for some sunny weather to get some good photos!

Today the kids went to play with their remote control car ^^

A volte insane, lo so.

P.S. ma non ditemi che questo mio nuovo lamapadario non è assolutamente stiloso.

I came across this quote on Instagram a while ago, and I really liked it so I decided that I needed to make a self portrait for it. My initial plan was to make a miniature version of me trying to change channels using a giant remote control, but that didn't work out too well. In the end I decided to do something simpler.

Today I made a special trip downstairs to check the mail (and capture it, officially making me the crazy neighbor with a camera). I didn't have anything, even though I hadn't checked since Friday.

I used to love checking the mail, but I think there used to always be the possibility there would be a letter or something. But now it's just mailers, mail for the old tenants, an occasional magazine--and happily for me, paychecks. But bills are all electronic, no one writes letters anymore. . . . The mail just isn't as fun!
