The pumping station returned to steam after the long winter months with model submarines in the pond and on display, plus a craft fair, live music and children's play area. A good time had by all :)

No Group Awards/Banners, thanks
As manufactured by the Best Company, San Leandro, California, around 1905. Some of these behemoths remain preserved, even operational. Best merged with the Holt Company (known for their tracked vehicles) in 1925, to become Caterpillar.
The Best traction engines are easyly recognized by their three-wheeled design and their upright boiler - the horizontal tank is a water container. Other than that, the design was pretty antiquated for its time, with no brakes, no gear shift, and a top speed of about 4mph.
The most prominent Best engine is "Old Dinah", purchased in 1894 for hauling borax through Death Valley. Today it can bee seen sitting at Furnace Creek, in a pretty desolate state.
Another preserved engine, the very one that inspired me to this build, is nicknamed "Susanpuffer" and can be seen in action here on youtube:

Capita spesso che se mi metto in testa qualcosa quel qualcosa peserà inevitabilmente più del previsto.
Gli altri le chiamano fissazioni, io semplicemente le chiamo idee.
A volte insane, lo so.
P.S. ma non ditemi che questo mio nuovo lamapadario non è assolutamente stiloso.
ecco, a me per esempio piacerebbe sentirmi tutte le mattine così.
credi che un buon giorno sarà possibile?

I came across this quote on Instagram a while ago, and I really liked it so I decided that I needed to make a self portrait for it. My initial plan was to make a miniature version of me trying to change channels using a giant remote control, but that didn't work out too well. In the end I decided to do something simpler.

I know I've done almost exactly this shot before, but whatever. I had a cupcake craving after seeing Lindsay's pic yesterday, and then after hanging out with her tonight for beer, mussels, and fries, I really wanted one. So I stopped by Crumbs and bought a regular big cupcake, but they had these for free next to the register. And it's really all I wanted, so I now have real cupcake in case I want some tomorrow!
Maybe I'll bring them to the hospital tomorrow--my very close friend Liz had her baby today! (She was induced, so I couldn't be in the room with them, unfortunately.)
