Jason led me to believe he couldn't make it to New York until Wednesday, but certain hints and signs had me suspicious of otherwise.

And there he was! Waiting for me upon my return. Best surprise ever.

I sat on the sofa, switched the tv on – and now I have to decide what to watch.

Had a nice weather today so I was busy filming with my pimped up Lego 42041 Race Truck :)

A remote control for a DSLR is just cool.

"So why does HE always get the remote"?

Jason got me a blender for Christmas (I gave away my blender years ago and thought just my stick blender would be fine, but then I lost that plastic cup that comes with the stick blender and had nothing good for making smoothies in).

This morning, my first real smoothie to start the day: this is a half-serving of a mixture of one small banana, about half a cup of frozen pineapple, a large handful of baby spinach, and a good splash of almond milk. So tasty!!

I may have been a bit idiotic when it came to planning Christmas presents.

The Moon is Earth's only natural satellite and the fifth largest satellite in the Solar System. The average centre-to-centre distance from the Earth to the Moon is 384,403 kilometres (238,857 mi), about thirty times the diameter of the Earth.

The common centre of mass of the system (the barycentre) is located at about 1,700 kilometres (1,100 mi)—a quarter the Earth's radius—beneath the surface of the Earth. The Moon makes a complete orbit around the Earth every 27.3 days.

They weren't even in the background in any shot; I CLONED THEM IN.

I post this because I did several clone attempts (FOUR separate setups) today and while this one is overly dark and has some obvious gaps--like left of center, foreground--I am "interacting" at least in two of the pairs, and I wanted Laura to see it.

After half an year far away from my bricks, I finally got my hands back on them. Hope I can finish this futuristic BMW i8 powered and enlighted by sBrick soon

Just a little bit of magic for ya...

I really wanted to do this much better and include some motion streaks around the remote, but the crap version of PS i'm using didn't have all the right settings for the tutorial I got from Gooner. Plus, trying to draw cool curvy lines with a mouse ain't easy. So this is what you get...

Could there possibly be ten things that I can share with you guys that I haven't put on the Interwebs already? Well, I'll try, since several of you asked.

1. I am constantly resisting the urge to shoplift or pickpocket. Most of my idle thoughts while shopping or standing on a crowded subway are about how to lift things. I have never done it . . . yet.

2. I was the editor of my high school yearbook for two years (and a "section editor" the year before). So to people I knew in high school, my current career as an editor is no surprise. However, to those I went to college with, it wasn't a natural next step, given that I was a physics major and took all of two English courses.

3. My Chinese grandparents lived with us for five years, from when I was in 8th grade until I graduated from high school. It actually took one of my friends in high school months to realize they lived there, despite all the time she spent at my house.

4. I don't like the texture of pork chops or pork tenderloin. Shredded pork is great, cured pork products are awesome. Deli meat ham squicks me out. I don't think I've ever eaten deli ham, actually.

5. From 1985-1990, we lived in Taipei, Taiwan (3rd grade-7th grade). And actually for a year when I was a baby--1978-1979?--we lived in Taichung, Taiwan. This is unrelated to the fact that I am half Chinese--it was dad's job that took us there. It means I sometimes don't know cultural phenomena from the US at that time, but it means I've been to several countries in Asia.

6. I am really, really, REALLY ticklish, but it's not some funny thing that makes me laugh. It actually hurts, in a way that is impossible to describe. I HATE it. Tickle me, and we are no longer friends.

7. I cry at everything. TV commercials, the Olympics, certain songs, books where animals die, when I'm startled too suddenly, when I'm tickled too much. . . . People are always surprised when they learn this about me. I'm not made of stone, people!!

8. I snore.

9. When I need to "motivate" myself to do something, I clap three times in rapid succession. Then I usually say something like "Ok Erin! Let's ____!" (Sidenote: I talk to myself a lot, and I do refer to myself by first name.)

10. This isn't all that unknown, but exactly 2 years ago today, I quit my job with nothing lined up. I spun it as my desire to "pursue freelance," but honestly that wasn't a fully formed plan when I gave notice. It was the scariest but best thing I've done in my life.

Revised version of the classic 6989-1: Mega Core Magnetizer set. This one is fully remote-controlled via SBrick.

I am at my son's house and no doubt each of these remote controls has a function – but I've no idea what it is 😳

The hereios of the We're Here! group have paid a visit to the Remote control group today.
