Sloth is defined as spiritual and actual apathy or laziness, putting off what God asks you to do, or not doing it or anything at all. Acedia is a Latin word, from Greek akedia, literally meaning "absence of caring". Acedia can also lead to God's wrath.
Sloth can also concern wasting due to lack of use or allowing entropy, expanding into almost any person, place, thing, skills, or intangible ideal that would require maintenance, refinement and/or support to continue to exist.
This is something I am guilty of myself! I enjoy sitting back on the couch and relaxing to my favorite shows on TV. Sometimes I can be really lazy!
Sloth is a part of the 7 deadly sins series!
ed è in certi sguardi che nascondo ciò che non ti ho detto mai, per paura, per inganno o forse perchè certi segreti non vanno confessati.

the apartment is officially mine, mine, mine. I signed the lease, handed over the money, got the keys, got another tour of the building, flirted with the broker, and then took measurements of every room.
A quick compare/contrast:
New apt LR: 11'9" x 20'4" = approx 240 sq feet (in addition to the eat-in kitchen)
Old apt LR: 8'8" x 12'4" = approx 106 sq feet (and my "dining room" is also in here)
ho-leeee crap.
A beautiful sunny day so i went to the lake.
Lovely to see the remote control yachts being sailed.
I took this shot into the sun and got some free sparkles !

"L'intelligenza sta
nel comprendere appena in tempo
il ruolo preciso di un esistenza
le cose da gettare via
quelle importanti da valutare
per mettere a frutto le qualità
L'intelligenza sta
nel chiedersi sempre serenamente
se c'è la propria vita in allarme rosso
e non fare finta di ridere
con autoironia non mentire mai..."
The best gift this X-mas? A remote control for my new camera. Here's the shot I took to test out the device.
All I did was set the camera on the back of the couch, set it for "remote with 2 second delay," pressed the shutter release, and walked casually in front of the camera. I like the 2 second delay because it gives me time to put my hand down (so the photo doesn't have me pointing the remote at the camera.

Or, waking up in the morning with a smile in your lips.
Now, which one have you got?
"Lasciando adesso che le vene crescano
in intrichi di rami melodiosi
inneggianti al destino che trascelse
te fra gli eletti a cingermi di luce…
In libertà di spazio ogni volume
di tensione repressa si modella
nel fervore del moto e mi dissanguo
di canto ‘vero’ ad esso che trascino
la mia squallida spoglia dentro l’orgia
dell’abbandono. O, senza tregua più,
dannata d’universo, o la perfetta
nudità della vita,
o implacabili ardori riplasmanti
la già morta materia: in te mi accolgo
risospinta dagli echi all’infinito."

"Ci si innamora così, cercando nella persona amata il punto a nessuno rilevato, che è dato in dono solo a chi scruta, ascolta con amore. Ci si innamora da vicino, ma non troppo, ci si innamora da un angolo acuto un poco in disparte in una stanza, presso una tavolata, seduto su un gradino mentre gli altri ballano."

I shot this (self)portrait with a tripod and automatic release.
No additional lighting or equipment was used. The only light was obviously coming from the left, through a window behind the camera.

Must see large on black (if you've come this far anyway)
Early morning SPs are so liberating. But being in the mood to take a photo within 10 minutes of waking is the tricky part. Just gotta pretend the camera's a boyfriend, right? And since I have a more meaningful relationship with the camera than a boy right now, it's not too far off :)
Luna is always lovely and lucky her because not all of us can look this good when we are in "lounge" mode.
Another house sparrow, captured by remote control. Love the still body and furious movement of the wings.

The first remote intended to control a television was developed by Zenith Radio Corporation in 1950. The remote, called "Lazy Bones," was connected to the television by a wire. A wireless remote control, the "Flashmatic," was developed in 1955 by Eugene Polley. It worked by shining a beam of light onto one of four photoelectric cells, but the cell did not distinguish between light from the remote and light from other sources. The Flashmatic also had to be pointed very precisely at one of the sensors in order to work.
In 1956, Robert Adler developed "Zenith Space Command," a wireless remote. It was mechanical and used ultrasound to change the channel and volume. When the user pushed a button on the remote control, it struck a bar and clicked, hence they were commonly called a "clicker," but it sounded like a "clink" and the mechanics were similar to a pluck. Each of the four bars emitted a different fundamental frequency with ultrasonic harmonics, and circuits in the television detected these sounds and interpreted them as channel-up, channel-down, sound-on/off, and power-on/off.

Dora was amused by this ancient remote control. She asked for a picture - she got it at last ;)
This is also the second time Dora's pretty hands star here
