The journey is in the revealing of what’s already true about us,

in the unveiling of our essence. Our task is to unlayer beliefs of

separation, smallness and unworthiness and come into the full

expression of who the Universe created us to be.

Due to the increasing Allied threat in 1945, among other things, Kamp Amersfoort was transferred to the Dutch Red Cross. On April 19, 1945, this was officially confirmed by “SS-Brigadeführer und Generalmajor der Polizei ‘Schongarth’.

The existing 475 to 500 prisoners were no longer the responsibility of the German occupying forces. On April 20, the guards left the camp. From that moment on the present former prisoners enjoyed their relative freedom. Kamp Amersfoort was at that time a shaky enclave in occupied territory. On May 8, 1945, when British and Canadian soldiers marched into the camp, the liberation was also to the former prisoners a fact.

Every year, the transfer to the Dutch Red Cross is commemorated. The memorial - where former prisoners, relatives and interested parties to be present - will take place on the grounds of the memorial of Kamp Amersfoort.

Poster to remember / remind all of us of the 43 Mexican college students who went missing about 2 years ago. All of these students were studying to become teachers.

Student project from the class of Colorado high school teacher Hayley Vatch. The assignment was: Students will be able to explain the causes and consequences of a past or current event through online research, writing a research essay, and creating an art piece to represent the event. The topic that each student chooses should be something that is (a) overlooked in most history classes, (b) denied or ignored by the perpetrator, or (c) an event or topic that people today avoid addressing. We spent one class period researching possibilities for topics and brainstorming. In their research essays, students needed to explain the event or issue they researched including causes, effects, and broad historical context. They also explained past and current efforts to address the event or issue (or the lack thereof) and then describe the artistic work they created and why they made the creative decisions they did.

Russian fans brought thousands of flowers and photos to American Embassy in Moscow to show their sadness. I think, it's the best way to remember Michael Jackson.

I remember very little of my visit to the Hard Rock Cafe Atlantic City. This is no fault of the cafe, but to the circumstances of my visit overwhelming the experience. It was the day of John F. Kennedy, Jr.'s funeral in New York. Sadness was everywhere except on the bus I took out of New York, which was filled with angry people. On the way back to NYC, a fight broke out while we were traveling down the middle of the highway. It was just a strange, very strange day. I'd like to visit again one day and make a fresh start of it all.

Acrylic on glass candles glued on cement, by street artist ELBOW-TOE. From the series Elephant Dreams.

The text on the left candle reads:

"I recall Matt grabbing the hose to slide down from the treefort, but Josh had not tied it well."

The text on the right candle reads:

"I remember seeing Matt falling horizontal onto his soon to be broken arm."

Remembering Melbourne 1850-1960 is a fabulous publication by the Royal Historical Society of Victoria (2017). Its focus is on the photographic record of things that are lost. Collingwood Historical Society contributed a chapter where 14 things lost to us are featured.

For many cities the 10th straight month of Global Peaceful protests against the scientology cult was Operation Oh Brother Where Art Thou? This theme was to highlight the cult's own internal prison system called the Rehabilitation Project Force (RPF), as well as the Estate Project Forces (EPF) which uses scientology children as young as 13 years old for dangerous and heavy manual labor.

All faces of those unmasked are blurred to protect them from the cult's "Fair Game" policy of harassing it's critics. These are brave people of all ages and walks of life, standing shoulder to shoulder with ex-Scientologists to bring the truth TO YOU.
