We'll be scattering Susan's ashes on this beach this afternoon. It'll be very emotional , and I hope a really happy time , remembering all the great times we've all spent together. Remember me was Sue's very favourite track by her favourite band British Sea Power, she'd just start dancing wildly the second it started playing. We certainly will remember her always. Thanks for all your support and kindness, Paul x

Remember

By: Joy Harjo

Remember the sky that you were born under,

know each of the star's stories.

Remember the moon, know who she is.

Remember the sun's birth at dawn, that is the

strongest point of time. Remember sundown

and the giving away to night.

Remember your birth, how your mother struggled

to give you form and breath. You are evidence of

her life, and her mother's, and hers.

Remember your father. He is your life, also.

Remember the earth whose skin you are:

red earth, black earth, yellow earth, white earth

brown earth, we are earth.

Remember the plants, trees, animal life who all have their

tribes, their families, their histories, too. Talk to them,

listen to them. They are alive poems.

Remember the wind. Remember her voice. She knows the

origin of this universe.

Remember you are all people and all people

are you.

Remember you are this universe and this

universe is you.

Remember all is in motion, is growing, is you.

Remember language comes from this.

Remember the dance language is, that life is.

Remember.

A brilliant night at the Globe in Cardiff, watching British Sea Power. The whole night dancing, and at one stage dancing hand to paw with a white bear. Superb Remember me was one of the wildest classics, and this view is one i'll never forget. A fantastic night.

In Flanders fields the poppies blow

Between the crosses, row on row

from the famous poem by Lieutenant Colonel John McCrae

11 November is Remembrance Day in the UK when we remember those members of our armed forces who have died in the line of duty. We have services and two minutes silence on the Sunday nearest to the 11 November as well.

The red remembrance poppy has become a familiar emblem of Remembrance Day due to the poem "In Flanders Fields". These poppies bloomed across some of the worst battlefields of Flanders in World War I, their brilliant red colour an appropriate symbol for the blood spilled in the war. (Wikipedia)

The background photograph is of the Cenotaph in London where the main Remembrance Day service takes place, this year on November 13.

So when I'm all choked up

But I can't find the words

Every time we say goodbye

Baby, it hurts

When the sun goes down

And the band won't play

I'll always remember us this way

Lovers in the night

Poets tryin' to write

We don't know how to rhyme

But, damn, we try

But all I really know

You're where I wanna go

The part of me that's you will never die

For remembrance day .................

Many thanks to all who take the time to view, comment or fave my images.

OK Dad... Remind me again, we are both going to hang out here on the paddle board and watch the sun set as we throw a line and a hook into the water. And you say this is the stuff I will remember?

ICM on Rememberence Sunday

Misty was my first cat. She loved to “help” with everything! She was a tiny kitten when my mum gave her to me for my birthday one year. A huge gift, as my mum didn’t really want a pet but knew that I did. Clever Misty, she worked her magic on my mum very quickly & my mum adored her. Happy Caturday.

remember this, girl.

you are half sea.

no one ever asks

the ocean to quiet her storm,

so why do you keep

apologising for yours?

Today being the Day of the dead, I am remembering the woman who gave me this camassia. Her name was Maria..she had lived a hard life but was the sweetest and most generous lady I have met here...this was her gift to me for my garden...sadly she died the following year, but when I see this bloom, I fondly remember her heart and kindness.

Store front window display at Pieces., 2015 Every Remembrance Day, Sarah & David Gordon have closed their store for the day to honour our veterans, despite the fact that there are a greater number of tourists visiting Steveston on holidays who would be visiting their store and making purchases from their incredible selection of beautiful decor-ware. piecesinsteveston.ca.

Today, on CBC TV's coverage of Remembrance Day 2022, a 98 y.o. veteran was featured who recently helped fight real estate developers who wanted to put in a condo complex on Juno Beach. The Canadian Government pitched in $4M to ensure that that didn't happen, and that the beach, where so many soldiers lost their lives, has been preserved as a sacred site. Lest We Forget....

Will always remember the sacrifies they and

Many, Many Thousands Made!

The Dunkirk Cemetery's peace and quiet was momentarily broken by the sound of whining traction motors and steel on steel contact. Briefly passing by the resting souls of this small town's hallowed grounds was UP 1943, Spirit of Union Pacific, then leading a highly publicized Q131 on CSX's Toledo Branch.

Some of the headstones in the cemetery included the names and service stars of men and women whom fought in our nations previous conflicts, from Vietnam, all the way back to the Civil War. Even in these small towns, their sacrifices for our freedoms, and way of life, should be remembered. They will not be forgotten.
