It was one thing when the remodeling chaos entered the enchanted art room and affected me (and still is), but now that Beau’s home at Boo Cemetery is being temporary relocated so that area can be worked on, Beau is quite upset.
Gosh, the wailing and carrying on… He is screaming, “Homeless!” and “How will I ever make it feel like my home again?” High drama is afoot.
Even Hagatha could not calm him down…so, she left the room to continue her studies and research to find a way in all her spell books to deal with Hubris and Scarlett.
Beau, distraught and feeling very misunderstood, decided the best way to deal with the chaos, noise, strangers, and mess was to simply hide his head under an old pine filled little pillow he favors and stay that way until they leave.
Boy, he is going to be pretty stiff by the time they leave.
For my Flickr groups and Beau’s friends…

Mill shop
One of Rossendale's largest employers has announced a relocation which allows them to stay within the borough.
WeBuyBooks - the online purchaser and retailer of used books - have purchased the 120,000 sq ft Lambert Mill, formerly known as Greenbridge Works and originally called Hall Carr Mill, just off Bocholt Way, Rawtenstall.
Over the course of the next six months their 170-strong workforce will be relocating from their existing base in Waterfoot to this new nearby location.
Grade II-listed Hall Carr Mill is three times larger than their existing facilities and this move will facilitate their expansion plans over the next five years.
The move was assisted by Rossendale Borough Council.
Hall Carr Mill dates back to 1830 when it was used for the wool trade, progressing to cotton and then in the 1930s changed to slipper manufacturing.
At its peak 500 people worked in the Mill and it featured in a BBC documentary in 1994 on manufacturing.
Mike Lane, managing director of WeBuyBooks, said: “It is a pleasure that as a 21st century internet business we can help bring this building back to life and be part of the rejuvenation of Rossendale.

I did this one because the Historic England listing said something about the mill being water-powered and built over a culvert, and I was down in the river anyway looking at other culverts in Rawtenstall:
History. Plenty of information available online. It was originally built as a wool carding mill (ca 1830), then switched to cotton spinning and weaving around 1841 and has been various things since including a slipper factory.
Despite what Historic England say, the consensus from an archeological survey I found is that it was never water-powered because the engine house (now converted) dates from the same period.
The culvert may have been to do with the reservoir shown on the map below, which is now a car park.

(September 17, 2009) — Sixty ordnance treasures made the 200-mile trip down treacherous Interstate 95 to Fort Lee, Va., during Phase 1 of the Ordnance Museum relocation Aug. 3 to 7. Powering the historical move were drivers from the Meadow Lark Transportation Company and crane operators and riggers from A&A Transfer Inc. out of Virginia. Read more...
Entrence to Manzanar in the Eastern Sierra of California. One of many camps where Executive Order 9066 stated that all Japanese residents of California, Oregon and Washington were ordered into such places for national security reasons. This was in early 1942, following the attack on Pearl Harbor. While some Germans and Italians were rounded up during the same period, it was nothing to the extent of the Japanese. It would be over 40 years before the United States recognized its fault and began reparation payments to former internee's, evavuees and others whose liberties were compromised during the war years.

Where Are The Signs For This Relocated Stop That Is Supposed To Be At Hillcrest?? Better To Moved The Stop To John St
The northwest corner of 2nd Avenue North and 24th Street East has gone through a change. In the past, a post was dedicated to traffic signals while a lamppost had pedestrian signals mounted on them. Since that time, the corner lamppost seems to have been knocked over or replaced, and the pedestrian signals were relocated. To see what this corner used to look like, click here.

Location: Route 195 highway relocation construction site, Providence, RI
Notes: Judyboy, Skazama and I ventured out a night earlier than planned due to the threat of rain (we got out the 2nd night too) and revisited a spot we shot at back in March however this time we focused more on the highway construction site than the Providence River area. Skazama had his lens trained on Judyboy and I often that night and ended up with a nice long-exposure documentary style set. **You should check out both their sets too.
I “painted in” the crane and wrecking ball with my flashlight for about half the total exposure time. If you view this one large you can make out some stars through the hazy summer night sky.

Central Utah WRA Relocation Center
Fifteen miles west at Abraham is the location of the bleak desert site of a concentration camp, one of ten in Western America, in which 110,000 persons of Japanese ancestry were interned against their will during World War II. They were the victims of wartime hysteria, racial animosity, and economic opportunism of the West Coast. Confined behind the barbed wire fence and guarded by armed sentries and held for no justifiable reason, the internees, two-thirds of whom were American citizens, and the majority of whom were woman and children, not only endured the bitter physical discomforts of the desrt heat and cold, but sustained a shocking affornt to their sense of justice and fair play and human dignity. May this grim episode of basic American principles gone astray remind us to work for understanding and goodwill and justice in an enlightened America today.

The Chicamacomico Life Saving Station at Rodanthe was established in 1874. It was the first of two stations that carried the Chicamacomico name and was identified as Life Saving Station No. 18. The Gothic Revival style structure had a keeper's room and crew room, a boat room, a mess room for meals, and a lookout. Later, a separate cook house was built. The 1874 board-and-batten station was closed and converted to a boathouse when a new Shingle style station was built in 1911. Both buildings are located on the grounds of the Chicamacomico Life-Saving Station Historic Site and Museum. The building is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
