I won't say this is a great shot by any stretch, but this frame, these conditions and the black and white conversion were all what I'd been envisioning since I started getting so obsessed with long exposures, and it's the one shot I absolutely had to get on my trip. We sped down Maroon Creek Road hoping the clouds would stay around, and anxiously packed the ridiculous amount of gear in our bags as we watched them cruise by overhead. Probably the most exciting moment I can remember with photography: that moment when we did a "dummy check" making sure we had all the gear packed, and finally getting to say, "Let's go!" A mad dash to the popular spot to shoot the Bells. The first several minute exposure popped up on my screen. The biggest smile I can make. Anxiety gone. Time to sit back, watch the sunset show and press a button every 8-10 minutes.

The title was inspired by that of a Hindi movie.
In July, I went on my first trip to Alaska. It was rainy and misty for much of it (which was LOVELY), but there was one night with a pretty sunset. I found this spot by chance and watched as the sun lingered and lingered. It's both enchanting and hard to sleep when it stays light for so long.
Norio on the living room floor in California soon after we had the floor replaced. He liked the carpeted floor much better and told us in no uncertain terms that the floor had to be replaced!
This was taken the other night with the final light and colors. Canon 24-105mm f4.0. Exposure 1 second. Only processing was an S-Curve.

Taken at the edge of the boreal forests of northern Canada. To the north of Prince Alberta, Saskatchewan, extensive farmland meets extensive boreal forest. Lakes, ponds and forest harbour many bird and animal species. A photographers paradise.

One of the amazing things about living in Poland is the phenomenal amount of underwear that hangs in windows.

I took this picture after hiking to the top of Grays Peak in Colorado. It was my first 14er I have hiked and it was quite the experience. As usual, I had packed way too much and I am still feeling it several days later. I can vividly recall slowly making my ascent up the summit saying, "This is my first and last 14er hike". But now that I made it to the top and am back home in my comfy chair, I would totally go again. Sometimes it is good to have short term memory.

Santa Monica looks cinematic at dusk as people wander along the beach near the Santa Monica Pier. I as here to shoot some shots of the not yet visible comet. Amid the pandemic, it was a weird night, as people kept their distance and the pier itself was about to be totally closed to the public for the night. The last of twilight silhouettes the Santa Monica Mountains and the Pacific Ocean’s waters make their maximum advance at high tide.
Me and my husband were driving on Tioga Road first day it was opened. I need to time our stops and decide ahead of time where I should stop at what time of the day. Tenaya Lake was what I have planned for my evening shot. We were there at around 4pm. It was a beautiful lake but that's not what I came for during that time of the day. We drove around some more and came back here again at around 7pm. It was chilly with the wind blowing. At around 7:40 we started seeing that golden light I was waiting for. Even better, the wind stopped and the lake was calm. This shot was taken before my previous upload of Tenaya Lake. That one was a bonus shot while this was what I expected to be seeing.
Sunset in Castiglione della Pescaia, Maremma, Grosseto, Tuscany, Italy. Awesome light and beautiful reflections.
